blauds is always on the case:

In an ironic twist, the nation-wide suspension of almost all athletic activity in the United States might have a positive affect on Boston College.

Here's why.

Let's start with college football and new BC coach Jeff Hafley's dilemma of finding a starting QB.

Last year's part time starter Antonio Brown, who went down in mid-season with a knee injury, put himself in the transfer portal and has moved to the University of Oregon.

You say that like there’s ever been a Blauds article that wasn’t stunningly bad.

Here's my attempt at copyediting Blauds

In an ironic twist, the nation-wide suspension of almost all athletic activity in the United States might have a positive affect on Boston College.

That's not irony. He meant "effect." "the nation-wide suspension of almost all athletic activity in the United States" - Come on Blauds

Here's why.

This sentence adds nothing and is the laziest possible way to start an article

Let's start with college football and new BC coach Jeff Hafley's dilemma of finding a starting QB.

Last year's part time starter Antonio Brown, who went down in mid-season with a knee injury, put himself in the transfer portal and has moved to the University of Oregon.

Hafley's prime recruit was former Notre Dame QB Phil Jurkovec, w ho transferred from South Bend and asked for an NCAA waiver to play immediately.

ANTONIO Brown, the "part-time starter." Usage of "w ho." Every sentence is its own paragraph for no reason

BC officials have been adamant about keeping quiet about that process, maintaining that they will make an announcement when there is some news to be announced.

Normally, the decision process takes about a month after filing, which BC did in early March.

But the CoVid-19 pandemic has changed that time scale. With almost all schools shutting down business the past several weeks, the NCAA let it be known that it would be June before they made any more decisions about transfers.

the "time scale" ? He finally fit more than one sentence into a paragraph, must have forgotten about his space-padding strategy

But we are saying it doesn't matter. Jurkovec's request meets the NCAA requirements--he was basically shuffled do deep in the QB depth charts at ND that he had almost no chance of winning the QB job for the Irish.

So in an article about the impact of coronavirus, the first (OF TWO) things Blauds gives us is something unaffected by the virus. Great work Blauds.
also "do" is a typo, and no one says "depth charts" in that way

BC is a chance for the once highly touted QB to regain his status. Considering the hardships caused by the cancellation of athletic activities, it is inconceivable that the NCAA will make Jurkovec wait anther season to resume his college football career.

You can write it in granite.

When college football resumes, Phil Jurkovec will the No. 1 QB on the BC depth chart.

"anther"

Part two of the consequences of Covid-19 benefited Boston College basketball coach Jim Christian.

Worst sounding sentence ever written

A month ago, Christian and his staff were basically dead man walking at The Heights. Another losing season had just come to an end in the ACC basketball tournament and there were no indicators anywhere that BC athletic director Martin Jarmond would give Christian, finishing his six season at BC (5 of them losing) would be given another chance.

Christian and his staff were dead man walking.
"there were no indicators anywhere that BC athletic director Martin Jarmond would give Christian, finishing his six season at BC (5 of them losing) would be given another chance." good lord

Jarmond had created a wave of fresh air on campus by sweeping away football coach Steve Addazio and bringing in Hafley a few months earlier.

He created a wave of fresh air by sweeping. Wow, that's stupid

Now it was time to air out the basketball program.

The fact that he continues the wordplay indicates he thought it was clever

Then the athletic world stopped. College basketball became a fleck of sand in the vast expanse of what was important in the world.

And firing someone in the middle of a pandemic? Not a "Christian'' thing to do.

Whether or not it was a Christian thing to do was not the driving factor in the decision. Blauds thinks he's being clever but it's just bad analysis

First there was a week of silence about Christian's status. Then a breife announcement; No change in coaches in men's basketball.

There was no vote of confidence given, no contract extensio offered.

"breife" "extensio" this guy can't even be bothered to use spellcheck

When BC basketball resumes, Christian will be coaching for his job. He knows it, everyone else knows it.

But he will still have HIS job, which is what matters right now.

"But he will still have HIS job, which is what matters right now" what does this sentence even mean? It means nothing. And Blauds just wrote in this same article that sports isn't what matters right now.

So there you have it.

"So there you have it." = the laziest possible way to end an article.

CoVid-19 and two stories which had a happier outcome BECAUSE of it.

Blauds has started capitalizing random words in his writing towards the end of the article. In this article which started by promising to be about the ways that the virus is having a positive impact on BC, we have a story about a transfer waiver which was completely unimpacted by covid 19 (write it in granite), and a second story which is generally considered bad for BC.

There must have been something else going on. Reading between the lines, I can't believe Jurkovec's waiver would be rejected. Maybe Black's concerned there will be little prep time and he wants an experienced QB, which Texas has. Who knows.

Stars and statical analysis may not be a good indicator about a player but a 4*, 0.9831 rating does kind of pop out at you.
Have to think his familiarity with Hafley has got to be a huge selling point along with BC's academics.

I wonder if that is reason for transfer, a change back to RB (maybe he got squeezed out at tOSU with the crazy amount of depth they’ve had last few years there)

No. Sam Beckett has no control over where he goes next in the series. That'd be a fun way to to transfers though. You're pissed off that you can't get off the bench at Alabama, so you throw your name in and BAM! all of a sudden you're in Buffalo.

No. Sam Beckett has no control over where he goes next in the series. That'd be a fun way to to transfers though. You're pissed off that you can't get off the bench at Alabama, so you throw your name in and BAM! all of a sudden you're in Buffalo.

Scott Bakula will forever be an out of shape QB that led his team to beat the number 1 team in Texas.
You what?
