Fields pulled the race card by claiming some anonymous posters posted racist things on the inter web (some of which may have been planted by friends and family to facilitate the exit). Even the Tate Martell thing is different. There was a change at head coach at OSU from Urban to HCRD. That was the argument Martell used. Jurkovec can only argue that his OC has changed. Don’t think it’ll be a winner.

There was also the UGA baseball player who got expelled after calling him the N-word a bunch of times (published news) and the handful of said baseball player's teammates who harassed him for a while afterward (rumor from local people). But sure, make up some bullshit to make a 19-year-old look like the bad guy for wanting to play football somewhere else.

I’ve been saying elsewhere that I think Jurkovec’s people are going to produce documentary evidence that the coaches wouldn’t give him a fair shake, & that their treatment of him was poor enough to warrant the waiver based on the NCAA’s guidelines.

This. There is ample evidence that the purple-faced, shanty-Irish, Saint A’s jackass and his boy toy Tommy Rees did Jurkovec dirty. The NCAA will not want to litigate it. I have no information from BC sources, but ND sources who should know are telling me they think the waiver is fait accompli.

That’s not remotely what happened based on lpublished news.” I assume you are referring to Sasser who... while in the stands during a game... used the n-word once. It was not heard by Fields. It was not done multiple times. It was reported to a security guard (who escorted him from the stands). However, someone reported what happened on social media and it went like wild fire. But sure, make shit up to make a 19-year-old look good for not wanting to play behind Jake Fromm.

In a statement, the university announced that first baseman Adam Sasser was kicked off the squad. The slurs were directed toward Bulldogs quarterback Justin Fields, the university said.

“Before he said it [the alleged racial slur] he kept yelling, ‘put Justin Fields in’ and then when Fromm made a mistake he yelled out “put the n----- in,” Goolsby told the Washington Post. Goolsby said that initially she and her friends thought they may have been mistaken because that isn’t a word that they’re accustomed to hearing, but after seeing the reactions of other students nearby, they quickly realized that they had heard accurately. Goolsby went on to say that another female student from a nearby group reported the incident to an on-duty police officer.

If the kid gets the waiver, he has 3 years of eligibility?
If he doesnt get it, he sits out one year and can only play for two?

NCAA rules make no sense

It’s because he’s already played (sparingly) for 2 seasons at ND. The first was used as his redshirt. You have 5 years to use 4 years of eligibility. Since he’s 2 years in, he has 3 more. If he has to sit next year, it’s a lost season.

I'm just fascinated that I read the last name Sasser and my brain automatically spit out "Mackey Sasser" into my consciousness

Pretty solid catcher until he stopped being able to throw it back to the pitcher.

maybe i'm alone and maybe the door has closed from either side but if jurk doesn't get his waiver i'm good running it back with anthony for another year

Agree. AB is what he is, but he is an order of magnitude better than anything else on that roster.

AB is pretty limited but he's better than the other options

I’m guessing that ship has sailed. Hard to see Hafley taking him back, though I agree he’d be a decent alternative from a football perspective.

Evidently he was a great Canadian HS QB. Take that for what it is worth.
