That seems like a tough offense to run in year 1 with the existing roster. Or does he mean that’s what he’s working toward building?

There are multiple version of the spread offense.
Would assume we run the version that best fits whichever QB we use.

Yeah, I agree “spread offense” is such an ambiguous term. My original point was that If AB is back, could we find a spread offense to fit him in his current state (after 2 ACL surgeries)? I’m not so sure.

There is no such thing as a “spread offense”. The spread is the philosophy of horizontally “spreading” the field so the defense has to cover all the grass. Some coaches spread to pass (Leach) and some spread to run (Rich Rod). Any QB can play in a spread and it can be tailored to their skills. This is the antithesis of Daz who wanted to play football in a phone booth.... which is fine if you have the horses to do it. Hearing Hafley wants to spread the field is telling in that it’s an update over the 7 TE offense we have been running. The fact he flipped the WR from NY makes me think he has an interest in “the throw game” which is nice.

Recruiting would be at its best since the TOB years.

Also would be nice recognition that, as opposed to what Daz thought, winning football starts with stopping the pass

I was actually contemplating this the other day...

I have to agree with him that if you can't stop the run (in college), then you're not going to win many games.

I didn’t realize that Antonio Brown still had college eligibility.

RU fans were petrified of the thought of Camp coming back to BC. However, a little over a week ago I was told it was a “done deal” for him returning to Piscataway. After not seeing anything post-LOI signing day, I reached back out and was told that Anthony hasn’t “pulled the trigger” yet. So, it is entirely possible that DO’s “reasons” may be the pause on the Rutgers announcement.

He also pitched McGovern's name again this time to return as DC. I would say no thank you to Spaz's DC.

Blauds should be forced to watch BC vs Army 2012 on an endless loop.

No on McGovern, we don't need anymore Spaz era.

Hard to tell on Scott Turner since their QB situation was such a train-wreck this season with Cam & the rest of those guys.

Say what you will about his father as a head coach but he knows offense. Turner would be a coup.

Hafley landed Campanile and Turner, the average age of the 3 top coaches would be 38. That would have to be some sort of youth record for a Power 5 program.

Why do we need an offensive coordinator? According to Blauds Hafley was the OC at OSU.

From an article posted today on the Athletic:

3. Kevin O’Connell, Redskins offensive coordinator: The former San Diego State star QB, who played for the Patriots and became well-versed in the Belichick system, has impressed many folks into the coaching world the past few seasons. The Chip Kelly protégé turned down a chance to become the UCLA offensive coordinator two years ago in order to stay in the NFL, but he could be tempted this winter. He and new Boston College coach Jeff Hafley are very tight.

Prefer one of the McDaniels (unrelated), Mike or Ben (Josh's brother) for OC. Mike would be best, I think. Anyone learning from Shanahan can run my offense. Hire a QB coach to go with, if it is Mike.

Sean Duggan will be added to the staff I bet. Was with Hafley this year at OSU and would be a great recruiter for the state of Ohio and of course at St. X. Can sell the kids on playing with Keeks in HS through college. Wouldnt mind him as a LB coach.
