So he will continue at 0.0hio St for the remainder of the season? Wonder if that was one of the sticking points?

He’s doing the right thing by staying on and coaching OSU through the playoffs, I realize you want him to it the ground running with the BC program but he’s going to be a man of his word and stick with the guys he recruited to OSU and not bail on them

After reading their 247 board, I agree with this.

Fuck yeah! Ready for the Jeff Hafley era! I can't believe they just identified the best candidates, interviewed them, made an offer to the best one, and locked him in! It's sad how refreshing that is, but for the first time in years, I'm actually excited about BC football! :chewbanka

Also, the white smoke was a very nice touch. Jarmond is a BC Guy. :angrychicken

have to think washington & camp are 1 & 2 to be brought on as dc. ohio state is apparently going to be aggressive in working to retain al. camp overlapped with hafley at rutgres and i imagine is a top candidate for rutgres again

We should be thrilled with either even though there are reasons to be concerned about both (from a play call/scheme perspective), because both would be major poaches from solid programs even accounting for the promotion.

Completely agree with this - whatever ephemeral, tactical advantage we lose from a bit of timing pales in the face of losing integrity. I suspect this means Gunnell stays on in some capacity, right? Which to my mind is a good thing.

Either way, this is hopeful and exciting - Jarmond navigated a tricky environment and executed really well. White smoke was excellent. Guy knows where he is and what he’s doing.

Also the publicity he'll get over the next few weeks, especially if he gets a ring he can wear on recruiting trips, more than outweighs the advantages of him coming to BC right away

It seems like a good hire. I will say it could be a bit awkward when Clemson pounds OSU.

That’s like almost porn to Leahy. Jarmond... Really impressed with him so far.

I’d prefer campanile to Washington. We would own NJ (at least the ones we wanted to target) which is key for us if we want to take the next step.

I know I'm beaten down from the last decade, but this just feels like it will go down as the best hire ever. I'll bet we see early signs of this when defensive recruits we would never have a shot at, especially in the secondary, start committing. If I was a top DB, and I did even a basic internet search on Hafley, I would get very interested in being coached by him

bringing in campanile would make for some interesting recruiting battles in nj with his brother being retained by the patron saint

Poor Hansen has been all over the place checking various sites, refreshing his browser, DM'ing other teenage boy watchers in the hopes that he'd be the one to announce the new hire first. Unfortunately Tom Dooder, a virtual nobody on EO, got to it before him. Poor Hansen

If you want to save face, perhaps you should start a thread titled "Hafleys staff" so.we can discuss assistants.

Ruling on the above-post: Brutal, but accurate.

All indications are Anthony Campanile will be announced as Schiano’s DC after signing day.

Hafley needs to pick a staff of coaches he knows and trusts. Previous time at BC should not be requirement.
