Why do I have a feeling BC is going to totally fuck this up? Could have had a Broyles award finalist and instead we are going to end up with some BC retread.

maybe i'm whistling past the graveyard but i don't read into the reports hafley is recruiting for osu, these guys are lunatics. if he's interviewed and met with leahyhoo they're working out specifics, i'm sure he'd ask for support and resources that bc hasn't historically, but by all accounts is prepared to, provide

Yes

Although I’m pretty confident we’re going to screw this up, not even bc would screw this up that badly.

McGovern would be a disappointing surprise. Feels like Spaz 2.0
That said, I'm not 100% sold on Hafley - he isn't even a full coordinator and has been at tOSU for a season. That is, if it's Big Al and not him, I don't see a huge difference and could argue one is better than the other both ways. I really don't see how anyone could mismanage away as many games as the Daz/Spaz run

You don't get named to Broyles award finalist and be terrible.
Here's previous winners:

1996 Mickey Andrews Florida State Current special assistant at Florida State, former head coach at Livingston University
1997 Jim Herrmann Michigan Current defensive coordinator of the XFL's New York Guardians

1999 Ralph Friedgen Georgia Tech Former head coach at Maryland
2000 Mark Mangino Oklahoma Former head coach at Kansas
2001 Randy Shannon Miami (FL) Current defensive coordinator at UCF, former head coach at Miami (FL), former interim head coach at Florida
2002 Norm Chow Southern California Former head coach at Hawaii
2003 Brian VanGorder Georgia Former head coach at Georgia Southern
2004 Gene Chizik Auburn Former head coach at Auburn

2008 Kevin Wilson Oklahoma Current offensive coordinator and tight ends coach at Ohio State, former head coach at Indiana
2009 Kirby Smart Alabama Current head coach at Georgia

2016 Brent Venables Clemson Current defensive coordinator at Clemson
2017 Tony Elliott Clemson Current co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach at Clemson
2018 Mike Locksley Alabama

I'd take my chance with a guy named to that list.

Impressive list, I stand corrected (and I won't linger on Diaco's name there). I would be excited by Hafley and would believe Washington would be well. McGovern would make me think GDF has a hand in the search. Please no.

Yes, but I would argue the good names on the list far outweigh the bad ones. Cutcliffe, Herman, Fridge, Shannon, Chow, Chizik, Foster, Malzahn, Hermann, Riley, Venables. Definitely more hits than misses.

Jarmond's not going to get a lot of other job offers, sniffs, or even passing Duchie-level flirty-eyed 900 pound glances for hiring McGovern. This is his shot.

Anyone have eyes on the Clemson board? Time to fire up a press conference thread? 2pm live webchat with huang and hansen?

Q said it in a reddit post. A fortune teller read it in the entrails dangling out of The Shreddee. Campion said it was Brian Gregory on a newspaper article comments section and now there's a press conference in Dayton, because huang crayon'ed words on a bathroom wall but then hansen kicked it because IB bit down and now we can't read it, and huang has to mime it with his feet because there's a red rubber ball gag in his mouth and he's tending bar on deaf night at Gerlondo's.

This fucking place. At least its better than twitter.

I don’t think it’s that far along yet. But, wouldn’t be surprised (and would be happy) if that was the result.

Ten thousand GoogleAdSense dollars says that Hafley is announced by noon on Tuesday.

Still working out minor details. 3:00

claver2010 {l Wrote}:maybe i'm whistling past the graveyard but i don't read into the reports hafley is recruiting for osu, these guys are lunatics. if he's interviewed and met with leahyhoo they're working out specifics, i'm sure he'd ask for support and resources that bc hasn't historically, but by all accounts is prepared to, provide

this.
