Gotta give props to Jake Burt on that one... when he knew he couldn't outrun the Richmond guy he changed the angle to extend the run to the goal line.

even if it was just against an FCS team I was hoping to see AJ Dillon go nuts. know he's been dealing with injuries but it has been a while

This is about what I expected. Not sure why people are so crampy. Looks pretty good. Stop rooting for Dillon to win the Heisman he's not going to win and you'll be happy.

people are always miserable

safeties are concerning but they've put 4 in the league over the last 3 years so zero experience

results wise this is as you would've hoped, blowout and no injuries

Nothing has changed. Even with 8 Seniors on the defense last year, they still couldn't get off the field on 3rd down. It was turnovers then, turnovers now.

For Bama fans reading our board, what he means here is that on ESPN3 there are commercial delays in which repetitive elevator music plays to the visual of “Your event is on commercial break” where you guys might see nationally broadcasted commercials

The safeties and Tate are pretty awful.

The rest was a result of playing Richmond

I believe it was last year when they implemented a rule allowing a fair catch inside the 25 to be brought out to the 25. That's why Richmond did that a couple of times.

But on the other side, Richmond was pooch kicking so BC was fair catching it because it wasn't going to our returners. I'm guessing the Richmond kicker can't kick it to the end zone consistently and they didn't want to risk giving up a long return.

Was defense simply not prepared adequately for the read-option scheme, or are they that poor? Army would have thrashed the Eagles yesterday.

It's still early. I expect tackling to get better as the season goes on. Teams -- not coached by Frank Spaziani -- hardly tackle any more in practice so I expect this to be the new normal at the beginning of the season. Hard to be good at something if you barely practice it.

That pick by Tate was pretty athletic. I think he is much better than you are giving him credit for.

BC was in the "Also receiving votes" category last week at 1-0. You don't drop out of that after a win, no matter how shitty the opponent.

Basically, the entire game. Yeah they were a little sloppy on defense (couldn't make some tackles) but they only gave up one TD so there isn't that much to get that in fuss over.

Is Dennis Grosel really the backup QB? Like in a game that matters?

I was in my car when he came in and Meter basically said that Addazio told him that our backup QBs stink.

-I am paraphrasing
-You have to read between the lines a little

His actual words were something like "He indicated to me that he was disappointed in where their development was and that none of them had stepped forward and emerged...." something like that.

Yeah well when you can't recruit known blue chip athletes that you know will produce, you have to bring it whatever you can and hope and against hope that maybe you will find a diamond in the rough that all the other schools overlooked. If I understand Jack Ryan here, we have no diamonds at the QB position and (as far as I'm concerned) we really haven't had any since 2007.
