outside of actual game stuff:

the 4 hour tailgate worked out perfect. it staggered entrance onto campus (we arrived arnd 1215 and there was minimal back up on comm ave) and once you were on it wasn't a fucking rat race to set up, tailgate and get inside.
cops were noticeably tamer. my group was cleaning up tailgate ~15 minutes before kickoff and no one was harassing them to get into the stadium. post game not sure if it was allowed or not but if people were having a drink while packing up no one bothered them.
not all concession stands were open which i'll never understand but the lines were moving.
we'll see as season progresses and they get more than 35k on campus

I’d be surprised if another game gets more than 35k.

This. Maybe FSU, but their fans won't travel as well as VT fans if their season is in the toilet.

BC is already giving away 4 free tickets to NC State game for season ticket holders and not just football season ticket holders! They must have lost a lot of season ticket holders.

300 Hammond Pond Parkway was free yesterday. Using this lot as a free lot is a very good idea. Yes, you can charge $20 cash, but they really need lots without parking permits. Losing the Needham satellite lot hurt.

Go Eagles!

I paid for a season pass for that lot, now they're giving it away. This program never ceases to find ways to stick it to season ticket holders and donors.

That aside, it was a great W and a great day.

I paid the DBS fee and those seats are being sold on an individual game basis.

I paid the DBS to get the parking pass. We never needed DBS because we always had DBP (Donor Based Parking). We lost a lot of season ticket holders with DBS and never replaced them with new donors, yet one AD after another cannot figure out that DBS is a total failure.

Go Eagles!

Can't you just

  • pay a couple bucks to get MBTA tokens
  • Take the Green Line/Light rail to BC
  • walk to the gate
  • pay $20 a buy a ticket in the bleachers
  • and just walk to yhour seat just 30 seconds before kick off?

Why is this so complicated? I don't understand. They don't sell out, you could buy a ticket at face cost (or less) just seconds before the game. Why pay a DBS?

Really ? Lower campus was all gone and I had to park by Waul House this season.

Construction is taking away a lot of cheap parking spots.

BC has not been relevant for a long time as far as a top 10 or top 25 even and they're the only division 1 NCAA program in the area.

What discourages more fans from coming is the parking too.

Why charge so much for parking ?

Who wants to tailgate at $2500 or $5000 ?????

The garage is not even true tailgating like at a Patriots game

When I went they were asking $150 and Brighton lower was sold out I was told.

I had to settle for Waul because I didn't feel like walking that far from Hammond or take the shuttle

Agreed, there's nothing wrong with misdirection and pounding it outside the box.
to work

You can even fake it to Dillon and have Bailey or any other back run it outside or counter play

Play action fake a handoff to a back and hit them quick with the pass that seems open if they are stacking the box

Define "long time". They spent 4 weeks in the Top 25 last season and came out 17th in one week's CFP mathematical rankings.

OK technically you're right but at the end of the season they usually not even ranked any more and to top it off a loss in irrelevant bowl game but in this case last year, they didn't even get to play their bowl game and as usual the season ends on a thud

Lower Brighton was cut in half this year - the lots up against the baseball field are all gone - they're building something new there for the "Athletics Village."

Anyone notice how much Yeargin played Saturday? I saw him credited with 1.5 tackles. Just curious how many snaps he had. I was watching the game but I didn't really notice while watching it.

He looked ok, Luchetti looked better. They split their snaps about 40/60.

when Yeargin was at Clemson, was he a badass on their defensive line? i'm glad he's here obvs. after losing so many players on the defensive side of the ball, i just don't have a frame of reference wrt Yeargin. WSDE or SSDE, better v run or the pass, etc?

I was talking about the spaces around the old Rec Plex. Lots of empty spaces in that area before the game and I don't think they filled up. BC needs to lower the price for parking and get rid of DBS. The pricing model needs to reflect demand.

If you have the money to pay for one of those spots (they're pretty expensive), you probably have something better to do on Labor Day Weekend.
