Looks like they did in fact get the flip. Nice to steal a recruit from a direct foe in the conference!

buconvict {l Wrote}:Strong belief around Michigan that if Kendall doesn't pull the trigger soon he won't have a spot in the class. They're at 4 OL commits currently and in good shape for key in-state target Rocco Spindler, who also plays guard. So the binary outcomes are either that he's off the board to Michigan in the next week or two, or that BC is back in the mix.

Have not seen this posted but Spindler verballed to ND, but I have heard that it has been BC & Stanford for some time for Kendall.

Looks like we are targeting another South Carolina de-commit, WR Simeon Price, 15 P5 offers, 3* per 247:

seems like bc is very optimistic he'll head north. between him and wallace as the 2 LBs, pretty damn impressive

Athletically, this may be the best class we’ve ever had. However, anyone else concerned about OL recruiting? We’ve only taken something like 10 over the course of the last 4 seasons. This year, we have Hess and Krajnovic. Kraj couldn’t be a bigger project. He’s only played football for a season and a half and barely saw snaps at IMG. Given concerns about the position coach, the lack of incoming talent is alarming.

fair though with kendall would that narrative change? probably not a concern that we'll notice till '22 / '23 season i guess.

for next year we're going to need to hit the transfer market for DL again. we cycle through 8 a game pretty regularly and will be losing 5 of them

Kendall doesn’t change it much. We are still low on numbers, but we’d be high on quality over the last two classes. I don’t think the delay in his announcement helps us. I don’t see him going to Michigan, but I can see him in Stanford. Speaking of Michigan, I wonder if we could get in on Crippen as that thing devolves over the next few months.

Agreed as as to DL portal fishing. We kinda all knew that was going to happen. We’ve been hammering away at recruiting failures along the DL for multiple classes.

The talent in the this class is with the D. The O is underwhelming. Kendall would really change the quality of this OLine class. The thing is, who is the plan B? We desperately need an interior OL in this class.
As far as the numbers at OLine, if we add one to this class, we will be at 14 next season. FWIW, Daz always said he wanted 15 OLs on the roster.

This year doesn’t count for eligibility... If Hafley wants some of them back, then they can come back.

Also, they are pretty young. Three of the starters are either Redshirt Fr or SO. And Trapillo and Pyne, two 4 stars were signed in last years class.

This staff had no interest in Crippen. Could’ve changed as we’ve seen with Phinney but I wouldn’t bet on it.

I just assumed you meant verbal today and announce Tuesday. Just hope we get him for 3 reasons:

1) would be a huge get
2) position of definite need
3) Wolfpack fans would lose their shit since he’s from Raleigh

Well for any LB that is looking for early playing time, we should just show them today's game tape. Our LBs are atrocious. Plenty of playing time available.

I get the impression they mostly aren't worried about the O since it is largely returning but that they would like to replace a lot of the D immediately

Talent on O isn’t nearly as much of a problem as talent on D. Scheme has helped us some, but we need to upgrade at 11 positions on D, even if everyone comes back. I think we could also use more OL this class, but assuming we get depth guys to come back again it’s not necessarily as pressing.

Claims he’ll still consider BC. Claims he’s going to focus on finding a school that will best development him into a man. But... we’ve all seen this movie before. Real tough for Southern kids to pass on SEC.
“My plan is to take a step back and just figure out where I want to go, to open my eyes to everything,” Wallace said. “I need to figure out what school can develop me best as a man and as a player. I’m going to be going to school by myself as an 18-year old. I need someone to be a father-figure since my father isn’t going to be there. Someone to make sure I’m on the right path. I’m not going to enroll early so I might wait until February to sign.”

This thread on an Auburn fan site captures what SEC fans see and hear about Wallace. Those who have seen him play are very impressed, and they have absolutely no concern about a (heretofore) verbal to BC. As one put it:

As bad as we're playing, surely we can flip a Boston College commit.

It’s much better to have commits other teams want to flip. But surely the phrase “Boston College commit” to many programs just means uncommitted at this stage of the rebuild.
