BUC convinced us all that Michigan recruiting is the best in the country and Phinney was better than any recruit BC landed in decades. Now, we’re hearing Michigan pulled his scholarship??? I’m so confused.

It was recent. Didn’t take him long to decide to flip he’s wanted to end up at BC from the beginning of his recruitment.

Most of the predictions now have switched from BC to Stanford. Doesn't seem to be good news, but doesn't seem like there's much in the way of evidence, so who knows..

Marvin Martin from MS just committed. 6'0 safety with mostly smaller offers from down south.

From Mississippi, but going to Trinity Christian in Texas now, which is a big time program

I love taking a kid from a bigtime Texas school who is originally from Mississippi. These are things we don't try that often. Watching the kid's video, I think he is someone they will be trying to grow into a LB. Those LBs who can cover are very valuable in today's game.

Is Trinity Christian in Dallas-Ft Worth or Houston?

If it's in Houston, would this be considered good news?

With that offer list, I can see why they said that.

He wants to visit Stanford but cannot (he has visited Duke & Mich). Sounds like he is in no rush to decide.

Huge frame. Crazy fast for his size. Really, really raw. I love prospects like him. BC does well with these types of kids. He’s years away but has big time upside.

We need all the help we can get for the defense.

BTW, how many more open spots for this class? What positional needs remain?

Is the limit still 25?

I guess, but we've seen over the yrs that schools can somehow bring in more than 25 on signing day. I don't recall how that can happen, though.

This is a couple years old, but I think is still relevant:

https://www.sbnation.com/college-footba ... igning-day

"The limit is on 25 “initial counters,” which you can think of as players in their first year on an athletic scholarship. But a team can bring in more than 25 enrollees in a given year, in a few circumstances. Most commonly, if an athlete graduates high school early and enrolls for the spring semester, and if the school stayed under a cap of 25 in the previous year, it can assign enrollees to the previous class, up to the 25-man total cap.

If a player wants to delay his enrollment until the following spring, he can then be assigned to the following year’s class. But all players must be attributed to either a prior, current, or future class, and no class can exceed 25."

Not sure how many scholarships we had in 2020, but I'm sure Hafley will maximize this class and not bank scholarships like other coaches we know. :suicide

So we expect the seniors, some RS Juniors and those who will transfer to thin out the roster once the season's over. Easily this class hits 25, and then there'd the a host of transfers into the program, Fauria's kid included

Yea, he’s a PWO. At one point he supposedly had a tOSU offer but then they reneged it on him. Not sure the exact story there.

Relevant fact: the best ice cream shop in CT, Sweet Claude’s, is half a mile down the road from Cheshire Academy. Highest recommendation.

This is fake news. Sweet Claude’s isn’t even the best in the area. Drive 5 more miles and hit Wentworth’s in Hamden. Far superior. Then the Rich Farm in Oxford. Dairy barn at UConn is legit if you can stomach the natives. I’m not sure Claude’s is even in the top 10.
