I’m guessing Nigel Tate is one of the DL silent commits from earlier this week

He is

Kid is a NG in a the mold of BJ Raji. Short, stocky, fireplug who enjoys contact. Type of kid who will eat blockers and make tackles up the middle.

Hope we aren't transitioning to a 3-4 system. it worked during coughlin's days but I don't think it works in college today.

Lots of teams with athletic LBs have transitioned to a modified 3-4 where a middle backer can fill those gaps but having faster guys on the outside. A lot depends on who the opponent is though.

A 4-3 is not ideal versus spread teams.

Only thing I didn't like about Towles was his inaccuracy. There's a couple of games on YT from that season (GT and the MD bowl game) and from re-watching them, Towles had some good physical attributes, but just wasn't accurate enough. Felt the same way about St Pierre for his Senior yr, iirc.

Tate is official and this will be the other. Some big boys to start the d line. We will take at least 5 in this class

Is Tate from MD or DC?
Interesting that Rivals have not rated either of these two new DTs.

Neither the 4 3 or the 3 4 are good against the spread. Add a safety.

When did 6’4” become short for a DT?

I have to be honest I think Morehead has a pretty good arm but I'm generally just a douchebag and not a negative douchebag. Comes from being a New Yorker that roots for Boston teams. I have the douchebag, but we win all the time.

If he’s 6’4” then I’m 6’8”. Or, he had a Dave Robinson-like growth spurt in the last 6 months.

So all the "Get Ins" have been accounted for? Or is there one guy that still hasn't announced? Lost track, tbh. Still, pretty decent haul for the staff.

Is there a reason why both Stoudmire and Tate aren't rated? Were they late bloomers or something?

Tate actually got a decent rating from 247 that would put him in the top half of our class as of now. There is one more Get In to be official and it is looking like its Stoudmire. He’ll most likely stay low on the ratings for now from lack of offers but for how much we use to complain about lack of inside lineman, we got three so far that can play inside with some size. Now just need a couple Harold Landry types to get the QB.

I don’t believe the article includes Stoudmire. So, I think the 2 are him plus 1 unnamed.

Nope there was only one up until about 5 minutes ago. Tyler had prewritten the articles and had them ready to go so wrote each with 2 to go not expecting them to go public at the exact same time. So he never went in and edited it to change from 2 to 1.

Really like this pickup. This is a kid who just came to the US literally a couple months. Former volleyball player has only played football for one season over in Serbia. He had never even lifted weights until he got to IMG. So he’s a massive super athletic kid who’s obviously ridiculously raw. They are rolling the dice on that athletic upside and the dream of what he could turn out to be. But having landed Ozzy and Pyne last class that’s a great gamble to take. He can sit and you can develop him over the next couple years, would not be at all surprised if he blows up playing at IMG this fall. I know Michigan was already showing interest.

Again. This fits the mold identified earlier in this thread. For the underrecruited kids, Hafley is focusing on kids with big frames who are unfinished products that he can work with. Jags and TOB has similar preferences.
