Are we out of the running? This is one mass kid I really wanted us to sign.

They really aren’t that high on this MA class for the most part.

Definitely appears so. Pitcher, Stewart, Ugbaja and Baptiste had Daz offers (did Lockett?) but not from JH.
Looks like I am in the minority here but I think not being able to land players from Mass (that BC wants) is not a good thing.

It's almost as bad as landing players from Mass.

Kendall,Stewart,Hansen,Pitcher,Ugbaja,McGowan,Baptiste,Guy,Phinney,Roach had offers from Daz. Only Kendall,Hansen,McGowan,Guy still had them under Hafley. Hafley also offered Russell. So 5 MA offers right now in the cycle and I’ll say even within that 5 there’s some conflicting thoughts on one of those guys. 2022 doesn’t look too strong instate early but without spring evals and most likely camps that’s not too much of a surprise. 2023 looks pretty strong early though including what looks like a couple really good QBs.

Still seems weird that we'd blow off Stewart since Everett is one of the only schools in MA that has given us decent players.

BC featured in the weekly recruiting roundup on the Athletic today::

Jeff Hafley had a big week at BC

Commitments sometimes come in bunches, as Tennessee showed. It also happened at Boston College this week.

First-year coach Jeff Hafley and his staff have picked up five commitments in the past week — three-star all-purpose back Lewis Bond of Chicago Kenwood Academy, three-star wide receiver Dante Reynolds of Chicago Kenwood Academy, three-star cornerback Shawn Gates of Akron (Ohio) East, three-star defensive end Andre Porter of Washington (D.C.) Ballou and three-star cornerback Jalen Cheek of Atco (N.J.) Winslow Township. That’s five commitments from four states.

Hafley is a former NFL assistant who was Ohio State’s co-defensive coordinator last season. He went back to Ohio and snared Gates despite the cornerback having an offer from Michigan State. Hafley’s recruiting plan has to focus on the East Coast, but it will be interesting to see if he uses his cachet as a former Buckeyes coordinator to try to break into Ohio moving forward.

Big Ten teams such as Michigan State absolutely have to keep those three-star Ohio prospects from leaving the Big Ten footprint, and they have enough to deal with as Kentucky tries to raid the state every year. If Boston College truly gets into that mix, things get even more crowded.

Boston College now has nine commitments and its 2021 class currently ranks No. 31 overall.

Outstanding work by Mr. Hafley, these recruits don't feel like the typical Daz guys, the game sir has been upped!

Huge pickup, wow. Go Hafley go!

Is that the recruit that was waiting to announce or is there still one more?

Everett’s success will be found at CM from now on. And at CM the recruiting won’t even be shady.

Haarberg to Nebraska. No surprise after their offer, but means we’re down to Bullock for QBs

I'm going to guess the historic hit rate on trying to recruit kids from Nebraska to BC is low

I'd be willing to bet the hit rate is 0% for ones who also hold Nebraska offers. I'll let bceagles24 confirm that...

Yeah I’m pretty sure I can confirm that.....however they came relatively close this year with top 100 CB Avante Dickerson they finished top 5 and Nebraska writers were actually saying bc was the school to watch. He loves Haf ended up committed to Minnesota without ever seeing campus so could still be one to watch.

TE Jordan McMichael? I think he chose BC over Nebraska. Pretty highly rated TE but injuries got the best of him.

Wasn’t he from Minnesota? The question is whether we ever beat Nebraska for a kid from Nebraska.

If we nab him, then our 2 RB commits would be 5’10/5’11” and about 190lbs. Definitely a different type of back then what Daz would target. I wonder if this is to balance out Garwo and the other half of the buffalo boys or if this is a new direction.

He committed today. Notice Louisville swooped in late. Baylor, Pitt, WVU and a few others involved.

7th best class in acc, not bad for a first time head coach where a third of his time on job we've been in a shutdown
