I think they might grab a transfer OL as well if one pops. That's worked in the past for BC. Maybe a kicker.

Players will be talking to former teammates from college (if a transfer) & high school. I have to think Hafley and staff are getting excellent marks from the current players for being highly competent, straightforward, and decent as people. Imagine an offensive lineman at ND sick of Kelly’s act. He sees how well things have gone for Jurkovec, can talk with him about playing for these guys and how he’s enjoying BC as a school (presumably he does that is). Meanwhile Jurkovec can vouch for whether the potential transfer can really help the program.

As Addazio found, you can’t really mine these connections more than a couple of years, nor should you rely on xfers much in building long-term. But to patch while “staffing up” it works, and I would bet BC will be a very attractive destination in the 2021 transfer market.

Hafley also said today unprompted that he will have discussions with current seniors about returning for next year after the season (due to the covid special rules that do not count this season as a year of eligibility). Will be interesting to see who he asks back / who wants to come back.

This class could use a few more offensive players. A second RB would be nice.

Bond and Coleman are both listed as backs. Is there a contemplated position change?

As of now Bond is coming in as a WR. Levy never had a redshirt year so i would assume the staff would want him back i dont see him heading into the draft. Bailey and Garwo will be back if they dont hit the portal and i wonder if Hines follows his HS teammate Belindo since he never saw the field once. Coleman looks really good so as long as we dont lose any of our top 3 backs we should be good next year. Got that walk on from LA (Muse?) coming in next year and he had some FCS offers at least.

We've talked for some time that there is a talent deficiency as it relates to the defensive side of the ball. Couple that with the movement to a 4-2-5 scheme. It makes all the sense in the world that we would have a huge focus on defense. To that end, you will note that there are a number of kids who could play multiple positions... CBs who can be safeties... safeties who can be LBs. This all speaks to the change in defensive scheme.

Whoever the hell was asking about using yet another scholarship on a RB, clearly doesn't know who we have already committed in this class.

Where did you see that? It certainly doesn't not seem like the staff thinks we need another RB in this class.

Coleman is the #2 back on his hs team. Only has 33 carries through 7 games this year; 60 carries in his full junior year. Also lines up at WR and DB. Thinking he will play the 3rd down back role.

This one's a weird situation. Durden started 12 of 13 games last season, and had 6 sacks and 35-40 tackles. Through 7 games this season, he started 3 and has only 7 tackles total (with a half-sack).

Is/was he hurt (or "Covid'd)? Did he not get along with the coaches? Different system? I can't immediately tell from reading press coverage.

Always thought it odd that we were able to offer a kid that was academically ineligible for his JR year of high school but his decommit was expected.
