Do we need to go through this mess of a discussion again?

There’s all kinds of logistics (police, fire, gameday staff, etc.) that goes into these games.

Word is seven win Steve had a plane to catch tonight back to the Heinz factory to inspect the showers drains for jizz clogs. He has had a busy couple weeks off cranking it to the Wing T playbook and Jeff Fisher tapes.

Why not push the game up to 11 am local time? They knew this weather was coming for a while. At least we would have had a half of football in the books.

Everyone associated with planning an event held outdoors knows bad weather is a possibility

The forecasts a week ago suggested bad weather was possible

We knew yesterday lightning was likely

We knew this morning it was near-inevitable

No one took any ownership on coming up with contingency plans?

The best we could do was "wait an hour and a half and then give up"

The more I think about this the angrier I get

If I was planning a two-year old's birthday party to be held outside, and the day before all the forecasts said "lightning," I (or any other competent adult) would figure out some kind of backup plan

NO ONE from BC, Boise State, or the morons running this bowl could come up with ANYTHING? Or were they all willing to just take their chances as the likelihood of bad weather approached 100%?

It boggles the mind.

WTF

Whatever the Cowboys Stadium is should've been the "break glass in case of emergency" plan. When you saw lightning was inevitable as of yesterday they should've shifted it.

The game was played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. With lightning and rain expected to plague the area for the foreseeable future, the game got canceled. Jarmond said the next wave of lightning strikes was projected to be “five times bigger” than the one that originally halted the game.

“The main cell that was going to hit was supposed to be around 3 p.m. That was going to be late in the second half so we thought we would be fine,” Jarmond said. “The weather we saw was not initially going to hit us. It shifted with the wind and it hit us. If that doesn’t happen, I think we’re OK. That was a game-changer. And when I learned the one coming at 3 p.m. was five times bigger with 350 lightning strikes, that was all I needed to hear.”

A college football game takes 3 hours to play. The "main cell" was projected to hit 1.5 hours after kickoff, and therefore Jarmond "thought we would be fine."

Either everyone involved in this game is a complete idiot, or no one could be bothered to care.

WTF
