Detroit would appear to be the likely destination at this point... According to McMurphy, Pitt/Stanford are El Paso bound and Va Tech is Annapolis bound.

We are playing Boise State in a bowl I've never heard of in Fort Worth on Dec 26.

1. Better than Detroit;
b. It is nice to go somewhere different;
iii. As others have said, we are in no position to complain after another 7 win season and losing the last 3.

Ha ha ha ... Daz couldn’t land an ACC tie-in bowl.

Looks like it is a brand new bowl (because we don’t have enough) that has the last pick of Big10 and CUSA... neither of whom had enough teams to trickle down to this bowl. While better than Detroit and an interesting matchup, it is the you get what you deserve for a program that is happy with 7-6.

Daz was probably hoping for Western Michigan in Detroit, at least he could win that. No way he avoids 7-6 now against a pretty good Boise State team.

This would’ve been the year to go to Detroit. GT is playing Minnesota an interesting matchup.

NCS has TAMU in Gator
Auburn has Purdue in Nashville
UVA plays SCarolina in Belk

First time since 1984 we're playing in the Cotton Bowl. Congratulations to Daz for bring the program back to the great heights of the Flutie years.

I am happy for the players. It is not every Christmas that you get a VIP tour of the Texas School Book Depository.

Miami v Wisc in Pinstripe

Miami & UVA had the same ACC and overall records as BC

Well done by bc marketing it as the cotton bowl

Will be nice to finally play Boise state on a neutral field

The First Responders Bowl is a phoenix rising from the ashes of the Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl... which succeeded the TicketCity Bowl... which was created because the Cotton Bowl lost the Cotton Bowl to Jerry's AT&T Cowboys Stadium.

If they're the designated home team and we win, do we get to finally say we beat them at their place?

Pinstripe was out based upon the Yankees thinking it would be nice to allow another ACC team a chance to play there.
Belk was out as soon as they had a chance at a State school.

Don't like it? Win more.

Weather wise, unless you're going to Florida or California, it really doesn't make that much of a difference. They're playing a ranked team and don't have to go to Detroit or play outside in NY. Could be worse.

Nope, good result for this team. Anyone know why the ACC isn't in Music City?

Fort Worth (both Stockyard and downtown) is a good trip. The problem with the game is not the location... and not even the dirty, dirty Basque program we have as an opponent. The only issue is (a) the date and (b) the optics of us again failing to land an ACC affiliated bowl.

Potato AIDS

I think the location and opponent are decent considering it was another 7 win season. The day and time is horrendous and for people in the northeast it is nearly impossible to attend unless you're willing to fly on Christmas.

The date sucks but both the location and opponent are better than any of the non tier 1 ACC bowls.
