Blauds hasn’t been connected since GDF left. I wouldn’t believe a word that guy says

Since you can’t have a coach entering final contract years (for recruiting) and since BC won’t spend money buying out a coach, what Blaudschun is essentially saying is... BC can’t fire a head coach ever.

Btw... he mentioned something in the article about it being the 10th season. Blauds should just stay in his lane and continue posting as Corners.

What's obvious with Jarmond is he thinks he is measured only on his fundraising prowess. When you talk to him at length, he always brings the topic back to how it impacts funding. Maybe that's how he gets paid or maybe it is just the way the job has changed. Athletic Directors were always focused on fund raising, but you get the sense with Jarmond that it is the only thing that matters.

That's probably the the thing that will get Addazio fired. You can't sell this season to donors. It's not like the other programs are flourishing. This year was supposed to be the year football pulled the wagon and it did not happen. On the other hand, Jarmond can sell the new coach and the new standards, so maybe that's how it plays out this week.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm not so sure he'd jump at the chance if offered the job.

Well a bunch of those SEC places have had supposed advantages over places like BC forever, and when was the last time Arkansas, South Carolina or Missouri was relevant? Obviously, it must be hard to win there too and he'd have a much shorter leash. And maybe, like me and others, he'd f-ing hate living in the middle of the confederacy, sipping iced tea for some relief from the oppressive humidity and stocking up on fly paper at Walmart

To me living in Boston would be awesome. It's a pro town but if they win they get the attention of a media hub. I think the cold hurts and I think the tax situation both hurt it as a coaching destination.

This is kinda silly. There are only so many Power 5 jobs. There are plenty of folks who would love to take this job. This is a much better gig than when it was when Daz took over. There is talent on the roster (though the DL will be terrible). This program is kinda like where Jags inherited it.

A good coach can make waves in the short term while building a roster for the long term. And, if things fall right, he could garner major college/pro interest in a couple of years. I’d rank it ahead of Texas Tech and Kansas, behind UNC, on par with Colorado.

I will be stunned (in a good way) and intrigued if we fire this ass-hatted imbecile - I'm not sure I see it in the cards.

Although for once it will be interesting to watch a non-stuffed-shirt AD execute an actual coaching search. Day will obviously be interviewed, but I'd be surprised if Jarmond stops there. Hope springs eternal - is there a finish line date where if Daz makes it there, he's on again next year?

Early signing day is like in 3 weeks. If you have a class worth keeping (we do), you need to be quick and clear about whatever you are doing. He’s either safe or he isn’t. Let the world know sooner rather than later.

I could be all wrong, but I think Jarmond was thinking Addazio finished with at least eight wins and maybe nine and that extending him was the only option.

That probably means they don't have anyone lined up or even a pool of names they want to talk to about the job. it also means Jarmond has not prepared Leahy for the possibility of replacing the football coach. Unless a donor is in Leahy's ear about this, a change is unlikely.

I hope I'm wrong as I can't take another year of Addazio, but that's the way it looks.

If they extend, I'm done. Every post Jarmond makes I will tag with an Addazio line. No breathing room.

I don't think that there is any chance that Addazio gets an extension. That said, I don't think there is any chance that he will be terminated. 7-6 is perfectly good enough for the BOT. They are content with a loss in Shreveport in late December every year. So (having thrown so much money at the man that they are paying one way or another) I don't think they are giving Jarmond the authority to fire Addazio. That said, I do think that the BOT does give Jarmond the authority NOT to extend his contract even one more day.

I hope I am wrong, but I suspect that Addazio coaches exactly 24 more regular season games as HC at BC. No more. No less.

They do this and the program is going to be set back a long long time. You think some of the Spaz recruiting classes looked bad? Watch what happens when you’ve got a lame duck HC and staff. All the top assistants will bail nobody will watch to join and everybody else would be in every recruits ear about how nobody will be there by the time they end up on campus. This is literally worst case scenario.

BC923 {l Wrote}:Blauds now saying 1 year extension "with buyout conditions" for Daz. Credit to him for making up something mildly interesting this time

Here’s the article... https://tmgcollegesports.com/2018/11/26 ... -one-year/
it is the fake extension idea I mentioned earlier.

I will be shocked if Daz agrees. First, going out now gives him a level of accomplishment he can sell to future employers (including ESPN). Second, Urban may not have a staff to join in a year or two. Third, a limited buyout ain’t worth doing when $5mm is available now for nothing. Finally, everyone knowing the tepid extension makes it as hard to recruit as if you just kept quiet.

All that said, if this is true... unlikely since it is Blauds... I can see this getting this out there so Daz turns it down and MJ can politically sell it to the BOT and Leahy as Daz being unreasonable and wanting to leave if he didn’t get a huge payday.

This is about the only way I see Addazio getting an extension, an extension by which he WILL be terminated next year. I hope Blaud's is right (we all do) because the "with buyout conditions" means we only have to endure one more year of this crap and NOT two.

That’s the most ridiculous contract extension anyone could come up with. It’s literally a lose, lose proposition. Daz gets less money, goes out most likely with a losing season and BC gets a program in worse shape next year versus this year. All over maybe 2 million BC might save in salary only to lose in ticket sales.
