Zach Allan was dominating for 3/4 the game as well.
Seemed a little tired in the fourth but to be expected with today’s Hurry Up No Offense.

Didn’t realize he was finally over .500. For the longest time, it seemed like any time he got within one to getting over that hump he would pull a Daz and go under by 2 again.

P.s. Claver, Why did that guy leave the hockey program? How big of a loss is it?

I thought Daz should have been gone 2 years ago. Each year they give away games they should have won under Daz.

BC is what they are with this coach and I do not expect anything else.

What has been said has been said by everyone the downside of this coach.

Wasting a timeout and leaving Dillon out to draw the offside on FSU was obvious, it did not sell and cost them the game.

He plays not to lose and is a loser mentality type of coach.

BC under Daz has always given up the big play and getting beat on that final FSU touchdown was like expected and deja vu again or more like the twilight zone of BC football.

And "dual threat" QBs will eventually morph into the "next greatest thing" much like west coast, spread, etc..etc.....but my "fucking old" memory can't remember that parade of "dual threat" QB's that have lasted 5 years in the NFL.....probably because they don't.

Patrick Mahomes. Carson Wentz.

Aaron Rodgers. Cam Newton. Russell Wilson. Steve Young. Dak Prescott.

Even Jared Goff is a spread QB.

First, for the whale pants, Sam Johnson can never be a “prostyle” QB.

Second, AB doesn’t pull it down anymore because he got hurt. It doesn’t seem to be something that comes naturally to him. It took quite a while to get him to run last year. He was successful at it simply because he was athletic. It certainly didn’t seem natural or fluid for him. Post-injury, he isn’t nearly as successful mainly because the injury sapped some of that athleticism and he seems even more hesitant and indecisive when running.

I hate Daz’s offensive scheme. I’m tired of having low expectations every drive, I’m not even excited when they get the football back

The best part of the whole thing was watching the game with a group that included an FSU guy. He’s a really nice guy and he has been severely emotionally damaged by the last two seasons. When they scored he did not cheer. He just kept saying “Shit, we left you too much time.” I laughed and told him he had nothing to worry about—that our coach was terrified and that the gutlessness had flowed down to our players. On the kick off return he just kept chanting “Oh shit, oh no. Here it comes. Here it comes.” I laughed again and told him even if we somehow moved the ball 40 yards, there was no way BC would make a FG. After we dropped the easy 1st down pass, he was again utterly convinced that the next pass would be a dagger. I again laughed and said that was the ballgame—what little confidence AB had was gone based on his reaction and body language after the drop and we would not come close to making a 1st down. When the game ended, he was incredulous. He literally could not believe how poorly coached we were and how poorly we executed. He then purchased me a beer and commiserated over being saddled with an incompetent coach with no chance of getting rid of him for next year. It was just pure misery.

You need a QB that can throw first and foremost no matter what. There are so few true "dual threat" guys. There's maybe 6 of those in the top 25. Just because you are in a shotgun and run an RPO doesn't mean you're a dual threat. What is needed is a completely different offensive philosophy from 3 TEs to spreading the field. We're running an offense from the 60s. Let's say Velecce or Johnson is the real deal as a thrower, we're still going to run this BS offense?

QB is an issue, and maybe they just don't want to give AB any throws until the second half, but you could put Matt Ryan in there and drives would stall out if you run 2 hurry up HB dives for a kid with a high ankle sprain to get us to 3rd and 8 on 80%+ of series.

There are issues with AB (and even that is on the coaching staff at this point. 6 years in you should have a QB that you feel comfortable with) but they aren't putting anyone in a position to succeed. Competent coaching would have this team moving the ball with ease.

I’ve seen it written by someone else here before, but there’s a reason literally no one else runs a scheme with 8 tight ends on the field. This shit doesn’t work and it never will. It’s idiotic.
