Brown checks down a lot. Id like to see his stats on the throws over 7-8 yards. He is just not good down the field, some wide open play action notwithstanding

He's still a far better player than Perry with more upside.

Very true HR, and sad.

For college, Tebow over Brady is the correct call.

Are you seriously arguing that Brady was a better college QB than Tebow? Tebow... like Flutie... did not have the same NFL success. But, that doesn't diminish what either accomplished as a college player. I'll also point out that (a) the Pats were similarly unimpressed with Brady's body of college work (as they waited for 198 players to be taken before selecting Drew Henson's stablemate) and (b) the Pats' next head coach (resident QB whisperer) thought so much of Tebow that he shockingly handpicked him in the first round (slightly ahead of both McCourty and Gronkowski). I see that they make Patriots Starter Jackets too.

It's unfair to Flutie to compare his NFL record to Tebow's (if that's what you're doing, you may not be). Comeback player of the year in '99, had something like a .680 (roughly) winning percentage as QB of the Bills and his inexplicable benching for the 2000 playoffs cost a real good Bills team a shot at a run deep in the playoffs, IMHO.
Tebow did what? He had a nice game or two for the Broncos.

Brady had only 2 years of stats but his senior year was pretty decent (much better than what I remembered it being).
nowhere near Tebow level though.

I think that his numbers would be surprisingly decent on deep throws. That has very little to do with him (he is ALWAYS late on those throws). It is mostly due to nice adjustments on by receivers and guys being open by 20 yards. Otherwise... this.

The problem is our backup is a guy whose been here long enough to learn the playbook and it sure looked like they didn't trust him enough to use it. Real problem. At that point, you should just pick talent.

While this isn't as disastrous, it's the same principles that screwed up the 2015 season at work again. Plan A fails and the staff is utterly paralyzed with no plan B.

The most concerning thing is that his 3rd and 10+ throws are completed for an average of 9.3 yards.
