I think this is further evidence that David Shaw is going for an NFL gig.

From someone I know with Stanford ties, while the Shaw thing could be true, it also seems that Stanford has stopped admitting football players with a 5th year of eligibility into their graduate school programs.

Shitty GRE and GMAT scores hurt the average more when the respective grad school class is smaller. Football is important but juicing the academic ratings is primary at Standford.

If this is all true, it would seem to be a big blow to the Stanford program. It’s actually pretty shocking.

This commit speaks well to Hafley’s ability to close. This commit speaks better to Hafley’s offensive philosophy as the kid signed on without us even having an OC (assuming he stays at WR).

Technically, Hafley wasn't allowed to speak to recruits since last saturday (did he even talk to the kid since he was named head coach on saturday?) so I see this as more of an indictment of the previous regime (if he's playing WR) or as a validation of Hafley as a coach (if he's moving to CB). Kid recognized that guys like Richard Sherman are speaking his praises and knew it was time to GET IN.

Yeah. Dead period isn’t exactly what it sounds like. I didn’t know if OSU put something in place to make sure he wasn’t sacrificing his playoff prep. No worries.

Why not just drop a linebacker into coverage...

I am curious how the board would have responded if Daz had offered this kid at this point in the cycle. All-State 7A in Georgia and best offer is Appy State. Interesting. Will be refreshing to have athletes covering receivers instead of DE on Sheridan’s zone blitzes.
