BCSUPERFAN22 {l Wrote}:Reading the tea leaves, looks like a few predictions on 247 for both Jah Joyner (DE from Danbury, CT) and Cameron Horsley (DT from NJ), prob one of those two guys to announce commitment next.

Looks like both guys have predictions from the usual team site writers, but both also picked up predictions from Brian Dohn who is a more national writer for 247 and usually not very pro-BC so his picks may carry a bit more weight.

Those two posts were the only posts discussing Jah Joyner until he opened his commitment in the beginning of December. Since doing so, he has dominated the thread. He may turn out to be all world. But, he was one of the more questionable offers made in the class. If he is interested in schools like Rutgers and Minnesota, he would’ve never survived BC.

And we are unlikely to get a better one at this point but it does free up a spot for another transfer.

Meh. Being our only recruit at a position doesn’t make him better or any more worthy of a scholarship.

Penn and Allick are waiting until February. I’d still expect them to end up at BC but they want to meet the next OL coach. Pyne will be there in January he’s got a weird situation where he’s not enrolled in school or something like that so he doesn’t sign a LOI but he’ll be an EE. Not sure what’s up with Sauls.

Not surprising but our fence around New England has come crumbling down. The Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year is headed to Michigan.

Mostly defensive guys, so its clear Don is responsible, but Michigan more than most seems to do well in what are our traditional recruiting grounds New Jersey, New England, etc.

So far guys we should absolutely be in on that have gone to Michigan:

Zak Zinter, OL - Massachusetts
Kalel Mullings, LB - Massachusetts (literally lists Boston as his hometown)
Will Mohan, WR - Brooklyn
Eamonn Dennis, ATH - Worcester

and last year Michigan got the best player from Mass (Sainristil) and three from CT. For some reason, they have really made New England a priority. Anyone know why we did not offer Eamonn Dennis?

Domers got two kids out of New England as well.

Brunelle - three star out of St. John's Worcester

Pyne - four start out of New Canaan, CT HS

KJ Costello enters the transfer portal as a grad transfer. Would be a perfect plug in at QB. Get it done Hafley!

He'd be great. Would need a good sales pitch. He's going to be highly sought-after. LSU, FSU etc would probably give a hard look

I'm not to sure what LSU will do with looking at any grad transfer QBs. There has been some speculation around here that they are interested in D'Eriq King from U of Houston, and he is talented but I'm not sure of any character issues with him as far as how he handled "quitting" on his team mid-season. They did sign two QBs yesterday, and have a guy returning next year who holds all of the Mississippi passing records, and he has a stronger arm than Burrow but not the pocket presence that Burrow possesses.

Costello will probably look for a plug in and win place, but he’d be great. Was pretty awesome a year ago and then hurt this year.

So is there anyone left that the new staff might go after? I know this is a smaller class but I wonder if we’ll look for more freshmen, or just use the portal

From someone I know with Stanford ties, while the Shaw thing could be true, it also seems that Stanford has stopped admitting football players with a 5th year of eligibility into their graduate school programs.

Shitty GRE and GMAT scores hurt the average more when the respective grad school class is smaller. Football is important but juicing the academic ratings is primary at Standford.

Stole one away from PJ Fleck? Is Brooklyn in the house? Rivals has him as a 3*/5.6 WR.
