Why bother committing after your first offer and so early? someone gave him shitty advice.

Kid from GA is a better WR prospect anyway. Anyway, good luck to the kid. I wouldn’t want to go to Baylor over BC but then again im not from Texas either. The proximity to home prob counts for a lot.

I don’t mind decommits in the spring/summer. It’s the ones late in the cycle that fuck over the team / coaching staff that leave the, scrambling to pick up anybody with a pulse. That’s the shit I hate.

Those kickoffs go flying out the back of the endzone and his 45 yarder would've been good from 55.

Can't wait to see nerd signs reading "Better Call Sauls" when it's time for FG try.

If this is true we may have finally found a kicker that can help us win games.

I can't evaluate the mental make-up of the kid, which is usually the downfall of these kickers.

apparently they were the silent commits, so far so good though with this class.

i think every commit has multiple p5 offers except the TE from PA that weirdly had a massive jump in rankings (edit: nope, luke floriea the small WR out of ohio doesn't, my bad)

I hope, He's the son of Stephen Trapilo. BC guy sadly died young at age 39, Son was 2 when he passed. Really sad. Cant wait to cheer for him,

A Milton resident, Mr. Trapilo leaves his wife, Kimmy, 34, twin 5-year-old daughters, Jordyn and Devyn, and a 2 1/2-year-old son, Ozzy-Dean, who was named after a 4-year-old orphan whom Mr. Trapilo befriended and helped while playing for the Saints.

"One of my girlfriends in Florida adopted the boy," Mr. Trapilo's wife recalled yesterday. "He came from a terrible background and she was hoping to get him to change his name so he could forget his past. But he was very proud of his name."

The boy made an immediate impression on Mr. Trapilo. "He came right up to Steve, stuck out his hand and said, `Hi, my name is Ozzy-Dean,' and Steve just roared in laughter," said Kimmy Trapilo.

"Steve was so good to that little boy and really came to love him like a father," said Mr. Trapilo's brother, Richard, 49, of Milton. "I remember him saying, `If I'm lucky enough to ever have a child, I'm going to name him Ozzy-Dean.' "

7 wins and a good recruiting class will likely never get you fired at BC. Good argument to be made that it shouldn't.

It really depends what we are aiming for as a football program.

I can't imagine a BC team having more talent than it did last year.

Is it really about what we are "aiming for as a football program"? I think every Power 5 school is "aiming for" championships. The real question here is what are you willing to sacrifice to make it so?

Are you willing to drop academics? Are you willing to cut a check for $500,000? Are you willing to leave the ACC if following the UCF model was determined to be our only path to the playoffs? Let's be honest here. Without such drastic changes (academically, financially or competitively) BC is never going to be much more than it is under TOB and Daz. What that is is a competitive program that becomes a threat to do something once ever 4 years. It's a middling school that tries to capitalize when it has lightning in the bottle.

Can we become more if we find another Coughlin? Sure. But, there are pretty much no examples of Coach K in football. The money and egos are just far too big for the next Urban Meyer to reside forever in Chestnut Hill. If we ever wanted to be more than a ho-hum, always-good-never-great program, we would have to do the Houston/Louisville/UCF thing where we go out a hire young hotshot coaches to use us as a stepping stone. You hold onto them as long as you can and then make sure you are able to crush the next hire (and be quick to fire when said hire was a mistake ala Applewhite and Kragthorpe). The biggest problem with BC going this route is the reliance upon JuCos and kids who have no chance academically.

I think the real issue is the refusal to develop a passing game because the staff has no capacity to do it, nor an athletic director interested in doing anything besides fill the fueling station and send out smiling tweets.

We don't have a JUCO issue, we have a coaching staff who hasn't developed anything at QB in their entire tenure.

So what? Dan Henning did a masterful job developing Matt Hasselbeck into an All Pro QB. Where did that get us? Landing Dave Cutcliffe or some other QB whisper doesn't get us any further. It only solves the problem if everything the current program has done well (DB, LB, OL, RB) continues to excel as if on autopilot. Given what we've seen through previous staffs, none of that can be taken for granted. Even OL (which is normally a great strength for BC) fell-off considerably under Spaz.

Look do I like Daz? No. Do I think he has a clue offensively? Of course not. Do I think he will ever win 9 games as a head coach in a Power Conference? Absolutely not. I think he is a positional OL coach, who is a good recruiter and an entertaining interview. Can BC do better than that? Sure. Can BC do worse than that? Definitely. I just think finding a significant long term upgrade is a lot harder for BC than anyone here is willing to admit.
