Everytime you mention something about our facilities an innocent baby dies. STFU already.

Well hold on there now, a lot of really good info was in that article starting with a huge student turnout numbering 50! Changing from the gold colored Superfan shirts in two years. How much MJ loves Daz (puke), etc

It looks like Jarmond announced a 2nd phase to the baseball/softball facility. New locker rooms, hitting tunnels, a indoor turf field and s&c space.

Has anyone been to lower campus lately. Aside from new rec building opening and the plex coming down, I noticed something interesting.

Brian White was doing a walkthrough video on twitter of the new plex (and actually Al Washington was on campus an in some of the videos), and in one of the videos, he mentions the hill next to Alumni that some here said was owned by the city of Boston.

Its kind of cut off, but he seems to mention that the school procured the land and it appears that they are removing trees and possibly doing something to the property ? Below are the four (4) videos posted and you can see the information re: the hill in video 3 at about the 52 second mark but gets cut off in the "editing".

Does anyone have an idea about what they're plans are for that area ? I don't remember seeing anything in the master plan for developing (or even acquiring) that land from the city.

The school has entered into a lease agreement with the state for the land that :oldman call Bear Can Hill. They have really done a nice job clearing it out and adding trails... It looks very different.

After the demolition and removal is finished, a reclamation project on the former Rec Plex site will begin in the fall and continue through the spring. Once completed, the location will include RV parking, tennis and basketball courts, and green space.

Hopefully, they figure out that it is time to build a first class in every respect 8,500 - 9,000 seat basketball only arena on the site of the old Flynn Complex. There were rumors of building a 4-5k seat hockey rink on the Brighton campus. That’s 60 million wasted dollars. Building a practice facility and renovations to Conte, another 70 million wasted dollars. Keep it simple and invest in a new hoops arena. Conte cost 25 million, that’s enough money to spend on a hockey rink and it’s been a great home for BC hockey. Time to build a 21st Century b-ball arena with that 150 million.

Go Eagles!

What's the average hockey attendance? I personally like conte forum. it holds a special place in my heart.

and besides, where would the conte ghosts go if there was no conte? they'd be homeless.

Conte is good for hockey, but awkward for basketball. You’re very far from the court due to the hockey configuration

I know they’ve talked about a hockey-only facility on Brighton. But, I kinda agree with Corners that it makes more sense (from a fiscal and practical sense) to build a BB only arena.

It's terrible. Build a hockey arena and retrofit Conte as an actual basketball arena works too, but they need to be in separate arena. Conte is okay for hockey, awful for basketball, has terrible amenities. Its also old as shit.

the upper deck benches suck, not sure how you can but expand the concourses

edit: about a year ago i heard the plan was to build hockey only on brighton and renovate conte for basketball only. i'm not sure why those plans dont' have traction whether it be money, permitting, change of plans, etc
