Who are some head coaching candidates if Addazio quits is fired?

I don’t think he will be but just spitballing here

Ryan Day for obvious reasons

Joe Lombardi maybe? Italian-Catholic, Air Force Academy mix of college and pro experience.

Who else?

I'm no HJS when it comes to scouting coaches, but I will go back to my 2017 choice: Brian Daboll.

If history is any teacher, a white ethnic catholic.

Actually think Jarmond might can Addazio because he's got to want to get his hands on a major program

I approve of this post. Give me some good candidates so I can feel positive about the future of this program.

Don’t see Daz getting fired unless we win less than six which with this talent and this schedule would be worthy of such a move.

That said, iwnh

I know that people don't want a MAC coach but I wouldn't hate Candle.

Don Brown. He would be the best coach since TC.

If the Texans tank, Bill O'Brien? He'd only stay 2 yrs, but he'd have 2 yrs of AJD.

Similar to the hoops job, football is in an interesting spot. If Taggart is really that terrible and FSU goes into its down slope, BC could potentially be the third or fourth best team in the ACC behind Clemson, VT, and Miami. This could be another TOB to Jagz situation where a new coach maximizes the talent in a way the previous coach couldn't.

I believe Steve Logan is still hosting a radio show down in North Carolina. He'd be an interesting pick, but hasn't coached since 2015.

Troy Coach Neal Brown. He's a UMass grad with relevant enough experience that he could recruit the region plus create a fun, functional offense.

What about Schiano?

No way a Catholic school could hire someone that was accused of looking the other way when Jerry Sandusky was committing his crimes, right?

Though it seems like he was cleared.

Bill O'Brien would be the best choice. Troy Brown is the best realistic choice. Neither will happen because BC is BC.

So... I looked up who the DC might be. Check out his bio. It is a straight cut-n-paste from Villanova’s site... complete with present tense as if he is still outside Philly. You’d think that Yukon would’ve updated the website after 2 years. But, other than the Rape Dog logo, you’d think that he was instrumental in Nova’s defeat of Temple in Week 1.

their defense has been impressive under him, 4th worst in nation last year at 519 yards per game. following that up with worst in teh nation at 664  no one in history has allowed more than 570 yards per game

let's fire this bad boy up again

this team isnt competing for championships in year 6, let alone 5 as daz's famous '5 year plan stated'

we'll see how serious jarmond is with the 'strive for greatness $150 MM campain'

I’d like to think that Jarmond knew pretty early on that he’d have to fire Daz, and a big money campaign makes it a lot easier for him.

You have to believe that Jarmond wants new coaches in football and basketball to be the faces of this campaign down the stretch, and Addazio looks like he's going to make that job easier for him

I was talking about this with the President of the Phoenix chapter of the alumni association today. He thinks Daz is gone (maybe even at the end of this year) if BC only wins six. Assuming they only win six, that is possible I suppose. I wanted him gone years ago. But I still think Addazio is un-fireable by virtue of his contract. I don't think the BOT lets Jarmond pull the trigger. I certainly hope I am way wrong.

What about Matt Campbell from Iowa State? He's beaten three ranked teams in two years and Iowa State was 8-5 last year. Not a sexy hire. Daz is gone if he tops out at six this year. 2019 is shaping up to be a Daz excuse year because of all of the starters he'll have to replace. The young excuse will be back in fashion in 2019 and it will be more along the lines of being young in experience.
