Attendance figures?

Box score in paper sometimes lists attendance but didn't. Looked like a typically slow arriving crowd, and DBS Sections notably sparse. True? Anyone hear an attendance figure?

That 30K number has to be tickets sold. The upper deck on the east side was only about 1/4 full and upper endzones were petty much empty as was the lower north endzone.

BC reports scanned tickets. They have since arriving in the ACC. The old Big East fans used the discrepancy between BC’s Big East attendance (tix sold) vs our ACC attendance (tix scanned) as PROOF that it was dumb to leave the Big East.

If 30k was reported, that’s attendance. Now... the questionable part of that number is whether they were all purchased. BC has a long history of donating tix to groups like the Boy Scouts and inner city outreach groups.

It was not 2/3 full even at it’s second quarter peak. EDIT - maybe my estimate is off but I haven’t seen the upper deck above the beacon st garage that empty in a while. And the end zone opposite the students was maybe 10% full.

The lower bowl seats 25,700. East deck 7,700 , West deck 6,600 and each endzone deck 2,250.
I heard that 14,000 seats are sold as season tickets not counting the students.

I left with 6 minutes left in the 3rd. Unless about 6 thousand people got scanned through the gates after that, there was not 30K in attendance, even in the second quarter.

I can’t argue with folks perception and guesstimates. I’m just telling you what I know from how BC calculates attendance. Could they have changed something for one game? I guess anything is possible. That said, 30k in that stadium is as empty as it has been post-expansion. So, saying “I never saw it that empty” is decently accurate as you’d be hard-pressed to find attendance numbers that low.

I trust corner’s analysis of the stadium attendance.
If anyone knows the intracies of alumni stadium dimensions and the crowd allocation within it, then it would be corners.
