The Dillon effect

I am reminded again this year what it takes to stir a little broader early recognition for a program like BC, that is you must have a marquee player that media outlets can embrace. I think of a program like UCF, as an example, that is coming off the season they had last year, and yet don't seem to get a lot of mention early on, while BC, a persistent near .500 program gets a little love. Gotta' credit the "Dillon effect". Point being, media buzz requires a personality to latch hold of for all except those media darling "legacy" programs.
