2019 NFL Draft

2019 might challenge the 2000s record for most eagles taken in a year (4 in 2014)

only thing worse than mock drafts are mock drafts a year out but many have zach allen as a 1st rounder, sporting news has him as #6 overall

I'm not sure I agree Allen is a better prospect than Landry. It depends on the type of defense you want to run.

Landry is arguably the better player but without a pro position. He might have to prove he can play LB. Allen is an NFL DE, and could play DT in a 4-3 if needed.

Landry has a pro position. It just that it (OLB in a 3-4) is very different to what he played almost exclusively at BC (DE in a 4-3).

The best thing about mock drafts is seeing who they think is going to win the Super Bowl.

Does he have Denis as a FS or CB?

He has Denis as a first rounder? Wow, that's kind of bold. I like it.

he has denis at S

looks like BC has never had 2 on D picked in 1st round in 1 year ever, the raja / bryce year was close in '09

edit: just realized that joke is from a decade ago, wow

Dazzler was on 98.5 Draft show and he said he was expecting seven kids to get drafted plus give signed as Free Agents.

You can listen to the audio on the 98.5 website under Bob Socci podcasts.

I would post the link...but I am lazy.

Daz has said that Lindstrom will be a 1st rounder and Ray Smith is an NFL guy (or something like that). Those are the only two guys that I heard him say anything about regarding the draft/NFL.
As far as McShay's mock draft, no way does Denis go in the 1st round.

Just guessing but this class could have many a “dude” in rookie camps...

Draft:
1-2 Allen
2-4 Lindstrom
5-7 Sweeney, Harris, Cheevers
6-7 Ray, Denis

Free Agents:
Baker, Stachan, R. Smith

Camp Invites:
Monteiro (size), Walker (ST), Torres (speed/slot), Schmal (size), J. Smith (Speed)

It's a good thing he didn't sit out the bowl game. He had a nice pass breakup in those 9 minutes and helped us get that 7-0 win.

Smart move by Hamp. With the losses on D next year his numbers would have been down, best to go into the draft off a very good year.

Hey I’m going to pretend like I know a lot about sports and use that to post five word replies in a declarative tone to assume authority and go from there! And then when someone calls me on me being a dumbass with shitty takes I’ll rinse and repeat and evoke something I did against IB to show I’m right!

Best wishes to Hamp. 2 star recruit with a 77 score from 247 sports. Love it when lower star kids flourish, as they often do.

Hamp probably saw how far Denis fell by staying another year. Jump in while the positive "hype" is there. Denis went from a borderline 1st round pick to, at best, a late round draftee after his play this season.

Hamp also redshirted so he's graduated. Can't imagine why you'd stick around

Free post -grad degree (or free progress toward one) from a pretty good university? One that would most likely pay off in the long run more so than a potential NFL "career?"

If he makes an NFL roster he'll make $495,000, I think that's more valuable than the free year of school even with room and board and whatever stipends for books and living expenses the NCAA allows.

It will be interesting to see if Kyler Murray declares for the NFL draft, decides to play another year at Oklahoma (highly unlikely), or chooses to play high A ball with the Athletics. He already has a $5M signing bonus with the As, but could he make more as a 1st rounder in the NFL draft? Most likely. Would an NFL team use a !st round pick on a 5' 9" quarterback?

He would face at least a couple of years (probably more) riding buses, living at cheap hotels, eating lousy food, and playing to small crowds in small backwater towns before making it to the Show. Even if he makes it, he is facing years of playing on a rookie contract. On the other hand, playing football exposes him to the risk of a career ending injury.
