Our field needs to be ironed.

I'm guessing that the liberals at both schools would end up so wildly triggered by the line "for here men are men and their women are too" in this day and age.

Just read Bill Connelly's BC preview and I gotta say, I'm getting pretty excited for this season, despite Addazzio. I know we're thin on the depth chart, but the starting 22 on offense and defense are probably as good as we've seen since '07. And I almost forgot how good Walker was on returns last season.

Also, I would love to see the return of some of the power sets we used with Andre Williams. With the front 5 on OL returning, and adding back in Baker and Elijah Johnson after injuries, and the TE's we're returning some of the teams on the schedule won't be able to stop Dylan even if they put all 11 in the box!

phil steele's rankings for the atlantic division must have nospace more excited than being the base of a large pyramid

3. Boston College Eagles
Boston College was an average team in the first half of 2017 and opened just 2-4, but once running back AJ Dillon emerged, the Eagles went 5-1 down the stretch but lost their bowl game despite a 383-200 yardage edge. They did so despite losing their quarterback, top center, top linebacker, top defensive end and top cornerback (all three captains) for the year at some point during the season. Boston College is the most experienced team in the ACC (No. 11 in my experience chart), and despite facing Miami and Virginia Tech out of the Coastal, the Eagles could be a surprise contender in the Atlantic.

Hard to argue with a lot of that.

I was not aware of the rushing yardage discrepancy in the Pinstripe Bowl. Makes that loss seem even shittier.

That's total yardage. Rushing was 175-100. They also outpassed them 208-99

Just thinking that if you hold a team to 200 total yards you should win every time.

The only reason BC lost to Iowa was the players were wearing the wrong kind of footwear for an icy field. The manager who planned that cost them that game.

Just saw that Chris Lindstrom is nominated for the @outlandtrophy Watch List. Does anyone have a guess as to what the OL depth chart will be? Does Petrula make the starting line-up?

Yes, but he's got to prove he can stay on the field. Knee injuries are very susceptible to re-injury -- especially at OL where you're constantly getting stepped on and tripped up.

Don't worry. Daz always puts the best players on the field. See Addazio, Louis, circa 2016.

believe starting 5 in spring had petrula at RT but he worked at both

Montiero - Schmal - A Lindstrom (holding spot for Baker) - C Lindstrom - Petrula

This is the lineup I was hoping for. Working Petrula at RT makes the OL the best it can be. Thanks.

Pertula played some center in the spring as well. Someone (presumable Petrula or Johnson) needs to nail down the RT position so Lindstrom can move back to OG.
