They are all ll over the Twitter Machine. Apparently they had a "Hail Mary" that was better than ours. There is so much wrong with that statement I cant go into it.

Any recommendations on tickets, particularly where in the BC section makes the most sense -- without paying a fortune? I've never been to Yankee Stadium and would appreciate any advice on where to try to sit.

200 level vs PSU was ~$95. It's $95 for this game.

Also, doesn't seem like the Iowa fans want to travel to this bowl game.

I think the 200 level is the way to go. Im going to buy thru BC since we give to Flynn Fund, hopefully we get priority with re: to the allotment. Last time we sat in the first level (the 100 level) and the sight lines were OK, but I think being elevated a bit would be much better (sat in second level at Fenway and it was much better being up a bit on a baseball field).

Idk if this is helpful, but found it on NYY site, its an interactive site map of the stadium to get an idea of the view from diff sections ...

Seems like they aren't that happy with the bowl. I guess that NYC isn't really an ideal place for non northeast schools. But I mean beggars can't be choosers as we know.

bc was 3rd base line...i sat in 200s i think in shallow left field and the view was great - note the field goes from home plate to dead center (unlike fenway)...so shallow outfield first or third base line depending on our allotment in the 200's is the go to

we're on the first base side, not sure why that changed (maybe it swaps every year?) but agreed the higher the better when it comes to seats. 200s provides a great view

I can understand why Iowa is disappointed. Sure... they lost to Purdue and Northwestern. But, you'd think college football would have done them a favor in the Bowl selection process. I mean, they are single-handedly responsible for the B14 being locked out of the College Playoffs. I mean, their season-long ineptitude meant that any team that could lose to them is by definition unqualified for the college playoff.

Also, internally within the B14, you'd think Delany would have helped them out since they created the "play no one so that an undefeated B14 West team can keep the title game relevant until Nebraska starts winning again" model. Wisconsin 2017 is essentially Iowa 2015... and the rest of the country greatly looks forward to a similar 45-16 blowout loss in the bowl.

In short, for a fanbase that has no financial wherewithal to travel anywhere that is not part of a "team package," being shipped to a uber-expensive, non-beach destination... just means that their pastiness will become nearly translucent due to their bowl fate. At a time where folks talk about looking after our fellow citizens, this is no way to help residents of a state with the worst GDP growth in the country (actually shrank by 1%).

The biggest bitch seems to be cost. They all disclaim hating NYC, and they don't really hate on the opponent, other than their mistaken belief that BC's offense is still stuck in 2015 that was started by a lazy blog someone linked. Fact is that they would have all the same bitches playing a 7-5 Arizona team in the Bay Area.

I love how they're giving us crap about not being an exciting opponent. Talk about the corn-filled pot calling the kettle black. Iowa is so boring I've never before this time given them the thought required to formulate any opinion about their program. I can't even think of any reason to like or dislike Iowa football other than that you happen to be from the state. Their coach has been there 100 years and I wouldn't recognize him if he sat next to me on a plane wearing an Iowa hat and jacket. They don't win anything yet they're not bad enough to provide entertainment value as a laughingstock. Iowa is the team you see playing when you flip around the channels during the commercials of the game you're actually watching and you say "nah" and flip back to the commercial. Surely BC is for any non-BC fan equally unexciting. But we have the well-known excuses for not elevating as a program: pro sports town, academic standards, Father Leahy, blah blahbity blah. What's Iowa's excuse?

I actually think BC football of the last 6 games is exciting.

And defend and run the ball has worked for many other teams. You don't hear anyone complain about Georgia and Alabama and they more or less do the same thing albeit Alabama has a slightly more mobile QB in Hurts.

Bottom line- Doesn't matter what offense you run as long as you score points and then win.

i spoke with many iowa fans and supporters this weekend and they are pissed about a cold weather and expensive location. they said they had no problem playing against bc, but they might have been humoring me because they knew i went to bc

they wanted to talk about scott frost more than the bowl game anyway, for the most part.

Wait... we were the least penalized team in America? Objectively, that's an impressive stat if true.

When we were at the Music City bowl vs Vandy, the temperature was ~25 degrees. So how is Nashville better than NYC during the holidays, weather wise?

Not sure how typical that weather was though, I think it's typically in the 40s/low 50s in Nashville that time of year. Not exactly tropical but warmer than NYC is going to be. Plus, a lot of people who haven't ever been there that time of year will just assume south = warm.

Apologies for jumping the gun on the Purdue to Pinstripe thing, my ESPN source said it was based on Ohio State making playoff.

I can't make the game, but I'll be buying tickets through BC and giving them away to some youth group. Do any NYCers know good ones?
