Bowl game in Charlotte vs USN wasn't "warm" either.

Not a surprise given the New York/Wall Street aspect. Now let's hope we have enough fans who want to sit among the hoi polloi exposed to the elements.

Speaking with a ticket rep, prices will be going up after 5PM today. Field and Terrace Level currently at $70, will be $80 tonight.

They were sold out by noon. Ticketmaster has plenty left (which become more plentiful as you start to move down the Iowa side of the backstop).

Eh, I figure I was exposed to worse over 21 months in Afghanistan. I was on one of those jet ski tours around Manhattan Island (HIGHLY recommended), we stopped for the first photo op at the Columbia "C" and the chick I was with decided to stand up and put all her weight on one side of it, sending both of us for a bath. At least helping her back on board necessitated pulling a GHWB (ironic, since he is a national hero in her home country)

interesting article on the process for selecting teams, also makes it seem that pinstripe really wanted bc

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports ... 21624.html

It’s 2:04 in the afternoon, and the dominoes to determine who goes where are about to start falling. At 2:10, Will Webb, the executive director of the Charlotte Sports Foundation, huddles over an iPad in the center of the exposed-brick office. It’s tuned into ESPN, where the teams ranked No. 6 through No. 25 are about to be announced.

Webb’s particularly interested in two ACC schools: Notre Dame and N.C. State. If the Fighting Irish land in the Top 11, they’ll head to a New Year’s Six bowl, one of the highest-profile postseason games. If not, they’ll likely be in the Citrus Bowl. He advises that since the Big Ten gets a spot in the Orange Bowl, that Orlando will have two ACC selections – and that they are likely to take Notre Dame and Virginia Tech. Webb also wants to see if the Wolfpack is ranked, which would enhance N.C. State’s standing in the top tier of ACC Bowls (Music City, Gator, Sun, Pinstripe, and Belk).

Webb watches intensely, a box of catered sandwiches next to the iPad on the table. It’s been a long day already and there’s plenty more to do. Everybody’s got to eat.

The rankings roll. Notre Dame is No. 14, so they’ll be in the Citrus Bowl instead of a New Year’s Six. That’s one domino. And with Virginia Tech likely to the other Orlando bowl, that leaves N.C. State in the Tier One pool, with preference to Pinstripe or Belk.

Webb retreats to his office, and at 2:14, he gets a text message. Boston College to Pinstripe, which leaves Sun for N.C. State. Two more dominoes. Wolfpack fans, who in past years haven’t bought all available tickets, will head to a smaller venue where that’s less of an issue.

At 2:30, a Wake Forest fan tweets a parody song at the Belk Bowl Twitter account, asking to be taken there. Webb and others laugh at the video, but also nod their heads in approval. If they can get Wake Forest, which is likely, this is proof the fans will be pleased.

This bit is interesting. Surprised to hear that NCSU doesn't travel well. If you believe that Pinstripe was an option for NCSU, they must have known they'd sell more tickets to us.

it's hard to say about rcc. i would assume that they purchased their allotment for the belk bowl in 2015 and 2011 but can understand not selling out shit ass shrevport last year. st pete's the day after christmas 2014 to play basically home team ucf and new years eve for the music city in 2012 to play home team vandy (i'd guess we didn't sell our allotment for music city against vandy, either).

i'd be shocked if bc sold out it's allotment for any bowl other than pinstripe in the last 10 years

The bowls all follow social media. What else are they going to do? The Director of the Pinstripe even started off yesterday's press conference addressing the people of Iowa about their social media takes on a trip to NYC. He wanted to assure them it is not too expensive and they won't get killed.

i'm not sure what your point is - are you suggesting rcc has a larger allotment because they have a larger student body? i don't think it works that way and if you do the only thing left to say to you is "bye felicia"

Rolly Clown also has 3.5x more students than BC

i'm not sure what your point is - are you suggesting rcc has a larger allotment because they have a larger student body? i don't think it works that way and if you do the only thing left to say to you is "bye felicia"

You compared the clowns' attendance record to that of bc. I pointed out the clowns have exponentially more alumni so the excuse fails.

the question was whether they filled their allotment, not whether they sold more than bc... and i don't think i was saying the clownpack was better than bc in any way. i was only saying that if they didn't sell all their shreveport tickets, i would understand. if they had eleventy,000,000,000 current students, i would understand not selling the standard allotment in shreveport. there's a bunch of savages in that town

so i'm still not sure what fails but, okay. you win, i guess. i'm not even supposed to be here today
now in the street there is violence
and, and a lots of work to be done
no place to hang out our washing
and, and i can't blame all on the sun

My point is that there are few excuses for schools that large to not sell out their allotment, whatever the allotment is determined to be, and even in a shitty destination. BC's use of this excuse is a little more justified. Like 3.5x more justified.
