Sam Johnson, QB from Michigan, has a commitment date set for next Monday 5/7, final 5 of BC, Michigan, Cuse, Iowa and Mizzou. 247 predictions lean BC

Dicosmo is still a strong possibility. Anthony also loves BC and is active in the football and regular alumni network. Watson's issue is not grades. I think he will go to Texas anyway so we will probably never have to face him.

Not in his final 5. Daz cannot be expected to compete for legacies from a Catholic school in NJ.

The idea that kids from Catholic schools care about going to another Catholic school is about on-par with the "new coaches need to have previous experience at BC" narrative.

Because his father committed to play for TC but played most of his career for Henning???

That's not it. I know I am teasing and being vague but I can't write about it. Watson loves BC (his wife played for Cathy Iglese at BC). JR isn't coming to BC. Watson just took a new job as a scout/camp director/recruiter for Under Armour so I am sure he will be very proactive (as legally possible) in encouraging kids to BC.

Watson to Texas. Better than ND anyway :koolaid

A bit OT, but Ben Miles (Les Miles son) announced he is transferring from Nebraska. I think BC was in fairly serious consideration prior to him committing to Nebraska.

He is a FB (doesnt fit new system) who was a 2017 recruit. No indication that BC could be a destination as of now, just throwing it out there.

Another semi off topic recruiting news item since we dont have a 2020 thread yet, Drew McQuarrie's little brother, Parker McQuarrie, just received an offer from Michigan. He is a 6'7 QB from New Hampshire in class of 2020

I finally have my explanation as to why we offered his brother a scholarship.

The kid throws a better ball than any QB on the current roster.

1. Who is McMurphy?
2) Rivals has him as a 3 star and not ranked nationally;
iii. 247 has him as a 3 star and 413 nationally;
IV. He is nowhere near the recruit Powers, Kamphouse & Mutryn were. BC has recruited some big time QBs over the years: Foley, Hartsell, Tim Hass, St Pierre...

Probably pre-stars. Glenn Foley was top QB in NJ his senior year with Brian Fortay.

Mutryn was the #1 QB in the country and a Parade All American. Chase Rettig was 4-stars on Rivals until he verballed to BC. 24/7 (formerly Scout) still shows him with 4-stars. https://247sports.com/Player/Chase-Rettig-1408

RI HS football is garbage... it's makes MA football look like FL football.
As a native Rhode Islander who has watched a lot of local football, I think there's a lot of risk here. Kid had one good camp against some BAMA prospects and suddenly he was a huge deal. But how much experience against actual competition? That's the best way to evaluate someone.

Yes, we should not care that Daz could not crack the top 5 for the #1 prospect in New England. I would say that TOB would be proud of your "we are who we are" attitude but he was actually able to land some of these kids.

Weird time to complain about Daz recruiting. Seems he has 8-10 recruits, with nearly all having some real solid offers. As a frequent lurker, it seems the past number of years it's always been a bunch of guys we beat out mid-tier, semi-major schools for. I've noticed some real improvement already this year.
