Without the injuries we win this game no question. BC is not a bad football team but injuries earlier in the year and now injuries to Brown and Moore are unbearable. I’m at least willing to see what next years team brings because if healthy we are top 25.

Yes I understand injuries are part of football, but losing our two best defensive players and now our QB is pretty significant (not including many other injuries).

Any chance Brown recovers before Syracuse?

Good point on the Special Teams. Botched snap cost us the game as did the blocked punt which really pissed me off because we all know it was coming... additionally you really didn't see the booming kickoffs that we were used to seeing (cold weather related?) and the coverage on those was terrible.

i'm probably giving loeffler too much credit but i was surprised he wasn't able to keep the offense rolling after anthony went down like they did in louisville. it is painfully obvious why anthony, even with his faults is the starter, it's a completely different offense.

good call on the special teams, the illegal formation negating knoll's punt to the 2 was a 15 yard penalty. walker struggled all day. the weather definitely got to das boot, in warmups he wasn't hitting them into the endzone either.

there's absolutely zero pass rush without landry.

i don't want to play into daz's injury narrative but lost 3 of 4 captains for year, best player & starting qb, that' being said they should be able to beat uconn w the 4th string walk on fadule

It's pretty clear that Wade just doesn't really have that 'it', that confidence that Brown has. You always get the feeling there could be a big play with Brown out there, and with Wade it's more of a surprise when it does. Could be he just wasn't totally prepared and was cold going in, so hopefully he's more comfortable out there next week.

Based on his one career FBS start...as a sophomore...against a team that played in the CFB Playoffs...

Seriously, Wade has never really had a chance. He's made one career start against an FBS team and that team was dominant. All of his other appearances have been in garbage time with a very short leash, or in desperation situations after injuries (and he won one of those two games).

Have we ever even set up the OL to defend a left-handed QB? Have we ever practiced an offense for Wade's abilities?

Let's script an offense for him and let him get these next few starts in. Maybe he surprises us in the same way Brown surprised us in week 7...after 6 terrible starts. 6 starts where Brown definitely didn't appear to have any "it" at all.

Sometimes these things take time and experience. Actually always these things take time and experience.

But yeah, we blew an easy win today. Not taking a FG early in the 2nd, poor snap on the FG in the 4th, turnovers and the blocked punt, inane play calling on the last full drive. We gifted that one to NCST, injuries or not.

Luckily, Dillon can singlehandedly win us the Connecticut game or we would be staying at home this postseason.
Wade will surely play better against the less talented unconn team but I still don’t expect him to put any respectable numbers. Syracuse could get ugly.

What makes you think Syracuse is so good? Wade beat Louisville. He was unprepared today and the staff clearly hadn't schemed for him and was unprepared for Brown going down.

Give Wade two weeks to prep and BC can beat Syracuse. Especially if the D, the OL and Dillon maintain their level of play.

The BC secondary is really mediocre, particularly if contain on the Dline is lost, and runners get to second level. Tackling at times is embarrassing, and there isn't enough speed to recover when somekne fjnds space in the secondary. How many chunk plays against them via long runs already this season? Really flawed, and you get a healthy Dungey picking them apart, they will get so tunnel focused that 'Cuse will get some big plays on the ground.

If Wade is a QB, then Dillon will have to do it all alone. You blame scheming for the performance of a senior QB who Addazio claimed was a toss up away from starting?? He is bad, and they covered for his badness because he stuck around. Plus, you completely discount BC suckiness in the Carrier Dome.

If we put Jeff Smith at QB with AJ at RB and ran Zone Read this offense would be better than good.
