Is this because the ACC has too many bowl eligible teams for the number of spots it has allotted due to tie-ins?

My understanding is that we should root for Ohio State to win but not make the playoff so that there are 3 Big11 teams in the New Year's Day bowls. That would force one of them to go to the Orange so that the ACC would get both Orlando bowls.

I'm asking because I don't see it anywhere (Purdue message boards are still talking other locations). Also, I can't believe bowls would/could pick B10 teams given the many different scenarios that develop dependent upon whether or not the B10 makes the Playoff.

I'm biased towards the Pinstripe since I had to pass the last time and it's super easy for me. I just don't want to see BC paired up against a G5 champion, like FAU or something, who is an opponent I don't care about and have a decent feeling would beat up on BC

Joe Giglio posted his thoughts and he was predicting Birmingham (although the 3 uncertainties he had were NY, El Paso and Birmingham). McMurphy seemed to change his prediction to FIU (not FAU / Lane) and also said that this prediction process has been as confusing as ever.

Im also selfishly hoping for Pinstripe as Im local and would like to go.

I am glad Ohio State did not make the playoffs. They did not deserve it. Much like the Pac-12, the B1G-T(14)N did not deserve a participant this year in the playoffs. Alabama "floated up" as a result of what happened yesterday, deservedly so. Lets see how the Tide does against Clemson.

I personally think Oklahoma is going to butcher Georgia but, who knows.

Pretty good chance of this IMO. 8 spots and Miami, Auburn, USC, OSU, Wisconsin, Ped State, and UCF are all in....that leaves 1 spot remaining and ND, TCU, Washington, and maybe Stanford are the likely candidates. No chance the Pac-12 teams get it, it'll depend on which bowl has that last vacancy to fill, if it's Cotton there's a good (but far from 100%) chance they take TCU but if it's Peach or Fiesta they 100% go ND.
