I don't know enough about Swinney to know whether a real run-up is something he aspires to, under the circumstances. He likely would be contented with a 38-0 shut out.

If it were Louisville this week instead, then no doubt Petrino would put the pedal to the metal and not let up.

It's low hanging fruit. The only thing less relevant than BC football is WEEI

"everybody's got something to say"

"you saw the game saturday, you were there, that was a very close football game"

"im more interested in the body of the game, and that was a very competitive football game. all the way through the 4th quarter."

"we let up 7 plays that accounted for over 300 yards. they ran 78 plays. 7 were big strikes...that happened 7 times, okay. There is a difference between that and getting chewed up because you can't stop anybody" - lol. only SEVEN plays hahahahahaah.

7 huge plays is a lot of fucking huge plays.

davon jones to LB

edit: some other random thoughts from saturday

OL looked better saturday
tied to that, so did hilliman. it was the first time he averaged > 4 against a p5 opponent since GT last year (which was heavily skewed by that 1 long run). this one was a little more steady with 6 runs over 5 yards. obviously he doesn't make many miss but he did run some over and there were holes

bryce morais, still on the team? am I missing him? given that we're resting our best player for when it's a 3 possession game in the 4th quarter, I would think he'd get a little more run
wyatt ray hasn't made much of an impact with the increase in snaps
surprised how poorly and limited impact the DEs have had

Obviously the offense showed improvement but the Wake game was a f*cking disaster so take that with a grain of salt. The defense is maybe the most overrated unit in college football at this point. Game Day made some comments about how BC's defense would keep them close against ND so obviously they haven't been watching.

If having the offense show a pulse against what I think is a mediocre ND team is now the standard of success, we have massive problems. It's year 5. I think there is some talent on the roster - not enough to compete with Clemson and Louisville, but it should be enough to beat Wake and Syracuse. But the mistakes and lost opportunities mean they can't even compete with Wake. Time for Daz to go.

It was mostly the same shit: getting better every game, only seven big plays, a few missed tackles were the difference, injuries, freshmen, didn't want to risk a turnover at the end of the half and lose the momentum, wanted to know what the word "frivolity" means. He didn't appear to be eating fries, but he used his fork to attack the food with the same ferocity that he uses to dip his fries into ketchup.

What momentum? They scored last in the first half! We got an INT at med-field. So what? It's not like we made a goal line stand! He is such a cowardly fool!

the "only 7 plays" narrative has me laughing so hard. i honestly think he is too dumb to understand what he is saying

the average team in the acc last year had 73.6 offensive snaps per game. saying "we only let up 7 big plays" means ONE IN EVERY 10 OFFENSIVE PLAYS ARE BIG PLAYS FOR THE OPPOSITION. that is such a huge number.

Was anyone else a little disturbed that on the first long ND run, their RB broke through a wide open hole, almost stopped because he was so shocked there was no one there, then proceeded to trip on his own feet TWICE, and it still took our defense another 40 yards to run him down?
