Would love to see Venables get the TT job. It is embarassing to watch an ACC game and see this asshole get a reach-around by the assistant OL coach every defensive play because the bitch gets “lost in the moment” and has to get pulled back off the field.

anyone besides RD people think are realistic beyond the usual suspects? (in before corners mentions don brown)

Pete Carmichael always gets a mention as an alum, but he could probably get an NFL job at this point.

For MAC guys that might get interviews, Buffalo and Toledo are probably the leaders.

Coordinators I have no idea about beyond Day.

I am high on ND offensive coordinator. He's 35 and I think he could win here quickly. ND was utilizing a lot of 12 formations last night which would take advantage of our existing TEs on the roster.

He led Memphis to No 16 rank in offensive output in his first year there and ND is averaging 454 yds/game and 4+ TDs per game. I guess he would be a bit of a risk since he has never been a head coach but it could be better than a retread.

That program has a ton of potential. I also don’t think Fedora was a decent coach. I have to think they’ll go for the “poach another school’s head coach” route.

This guy should have been shitcanned the minute he opened his mouth about concussions/CTE last year. What a dumb, dumb fuck.

Anyway, I thought I would post a fun fact for the day. On this day in 2012, BC and NC State both fired Frank Spaziani and Tom O'Brien respectively. :chewbanka

It's a great day to fire a bad coach!

Seeing a lot of second hand talk of a press conference coming tomorrow or Tuesday. Could be bullshit or could be something about accepting a bowl bid to Shreveport or aome other shithole

That’s what happens when you have no university president and have Lynn Swann as your AD.

If there is actually a press conference, it wouldn't be about a bowl. They need to wait for the championship games to be completed before the ACC bowl tie-ins can be sorted out.

I actually think Mack Brown is a good hire for them. Who else better were they going to get?
ACC Coastal is garbage so it won't take much for Brown to win there. Plus, access to the south for recruits etc.

Based on his OC and DC the hire isn't as bad as you think.

Who would you rather have Mack Brown (who's won a national title and an ACC title albeit many years ago) or Steve Addazio?

It is a better version of Jags if they land both Kingsbury and Chizik. He gets to be a figurehead who recruits, does the rubber chicken circuit and deals with the media. Gene and Kliff run the team. They will both get bank and be in position to make a play for the head job in 4 years.

Didn't realize those are his coordinators - that's actually a decent situation. Also isn't Kingsbury 39 or so? Plenty of time for him to take a job like this, operate in new territory and with a new league, experiment a bit, take some risks, etc., and ramp back up for an HC job in a few years. That's a better story than, say, the Lane Kiffin archetype.

I think the Kingsbury shtick as a Head Coach gets old very quickly when you lose games 70-56 every week.
