You know who loved beeker? The Philly Intern.

he did love beeker. he defended him almost as much as nospace defends t.s. slaughter.

it's sad that his embarassment over accepting beeker's love all over his face, neck and chest caused him to quit the board/go to jail

twballgame9 {l Wrote}:The reason for a guy like Chip to sign up at a place like BC, assuming the money is there, is pretty friggin simple. He could mail it in here and not get fired, as long as he doesn't do anything stupid. Then he is the guy that returned BC to relevance instead of the guy that goes places to blow shit up.

The reason a guy like Chip would pick BC is because he doesn't like the other options being offered. Coming to BC means that (a) he doesn't have to much to be a success and (b) can pretty much leave at any time. It's very much the same reason why a guy like Scott Frost goes to UCF or Charlie Strong goes to USF. From a BC perspective, not only do you get a bump in attention and tickets, but you will get a nice buyout from wherever he goes. You then can use that money to help fund the next coach (or payoff the balance of a fired one). Ultimately, like everything in life, going cheap winds up costing more in the long run.

Hinnant's dunk in that game on McEurope was stupid.

I don't know who the football equivalent of Jim Christian is but I know he is the guy we're gonna hire

In theoretical-world, I think there is a strategic advantage for Jarmond in firing Daz early and making the first offer to the Chip Kelly types

well teddy, if you CAN do all 3 (but wont) that means that whoever needs all 3 CAN'T get all 3. so, they have to pick 2

when Jarmond finally gets around to choosing the head coach (in 2020 when he has to the power to do so) he will be bound by the restrictions in the triangle. And if BC is true to form, he will pick cheap (because he MUST) and fast (because his contract will be up if he doesn't.) It is what it is.

Joe Moorhead is the best candidate for BC. If we can't land him, I would take Don Brown, the guy can flat out coach and his exposure at Michigan will help in recruiting. The players love him at Michigan and we already know that he can build a number 1 defense at BC.

Chip Kelly would be a grand slam, but I don't see him coming to BC.

I agree. Hiring a career DC that is approaching AARP age should work swimmingly.

The single most important trait BC needs to look for when choosing a head football coach, is who is the best RECRUITER? Recruiting is paramount, particularly in a conference like the ACC. AD Jarmond should interview everyone and pick the candidate that he feels is the best recruiter. I don't know what he is going to do, but if he grabs Chip Kelly (for no other reason than his recruiting ability) then I'd say BC has hit a home run for an AD. Alas, it keeps coming back to money.

Well he did win New England Football Coach of the Year as HC of UMass.

That reminds me, I think we should hire Mark Whipple, the official choice of FireTOB.com.

I was trying to remember more of the names that FireTOB.com floated.

One was Steve Kragthorpe, but I didn't want to make a mockery of a guy who was forced to quit due to Parkinson's disease.

Another was Jack Bicknell Jr., who has kicked around the NFL and college ranks as an OL coach ever since Louisiana Tech fired him.

That's all I've got.
