What happened to the patriots defense yesterday? Or even the eagles for that matter.
It was like a WAC game last night.

The same as the rest of the year. They weren't actually good.

I thought Pederson's aggression and playcalling was the difference between the Pats giving up a lot of yards and few points, as is normally the case, and the Pats giving up a lot of yards and a lot of points, as was the case last night. Most NFL coaches get suckered in to playing for FGs against the Pats.

twballgame9 {l Wrote}:I think the rumors are probably bullshit. It seems pretty clear Belichick isn't going anywhere. But who knows.

I'm more concerned about the rumors of Greg Schiano coming in as DC. If true, that pushes Brian Flores down the pecking order a bit, which is too bad because he was really starting to shoot up the coaching ladder in Foxboro. I guess Belichick's got to satisfy his Rutgers obsession one way or another.

UMass hired Sean Dugan away from Hawaii. He followed Lempa out there before he left (fired?) and went to UM as an analyst.

So McDaniels is either a freak or the next coach of the Patriots in 12-months.

Reiss is saying this, and he's connected. He's also saying McDanieks was more likely to leave if he knew Belichick was leaving, not less.

If he knew Indy to be a shitshow, why did he kill interest from the Giants, Cards and Titans? All these media folks claiming to know McDaniels' thinking were also the ones explaining how he favored the Colts.

Again... he's either a freak or the next New England head coach. What he isn't... is the head coach of any other team.

I happen to think Tennessee is an excellent job. They are much further along the rebuilding curve, have a lot of young talent and are in a position where the right coach can make a huge difference. Not to mention... but Nashville isn't the worst place in the world.

It's a great move for the Patriots (keeps a good OC and sets up a possible succession plan). It makes sense from McDaniels-side only if he's been guaranteed to be Belichick's replacement when his contract expires.

What makes this particularly bizarre (and undercuts the Reiss-driven-meme that JM "has been honest all along about his misgivings") is that he had the Colts already hire a DC and DLine coach. He also had other coaches lined up for the staff (who passed on other opportunities). They learned from the media that their 2018 destination was suddenly in question.

In fairness to these reporters, pretty much all of them are wrong. There's about 2 people with real access over there.

Nunzio Campanile (Bergen Catholic head coach) is leaving to be Rutgers' RB coach. His brother, Seton Hall Prep's head coach (Vito Campanile), and Dan Sabella (Paramus Catholic head coach) are rumored to be front runners. I won't be surprised to see Toal take the gig if he's contractually able.

Really interesting and will have an effect without question.

Vito Campanile got the job.

So, another Campanile is at Bergen, Augie is at St Joe's and a Scarlet Clerk heads the downsizing of Bosco.

Reiss is reiterating his "McDaniel's return means longer Belichick term" theory and is doubling down with a "Brian Flores likely DC" assertion
