ATLeagle {l Wrote}:And they fired GDF's guy Currie after eight months. Ha.

Yeah... But isn't Fulmer also GDF's boy?

I think they worked together when GDF started out and that's how GDF placed Clawson as the OC on Fulmer's last staff.

EDIT: Here is an article from JANUARY discussing the relationship (and assuming that it makes Fulmer the front-runner to be hired as AD).

Keep an eye on Paul Peterson. He went 8 and 1 as head coach at Snow and is rumored to be considered as OC for BYU. He runs a razzle dazzle spread offense that puts up a lot of points.

I would love to see him considered if BC ever moves beyond Daz.

Crazy move. But the cuckold is supposed to be getting Saban money.

Probably long term good result for BC.

Edit: looks like Willie Taggart is being offered the job.

It'd be hilarious if a demoralized FSU loses their rescheduled game against Louisiana-Monroe and is no longer bowl-eligbile.

Also, that would reduce the number of bowl-eligible wins Alabama has which, if Oklahoma and/or Wisconsin lose, could screw them over in terms of getting a playoff berth.

I'm hoping for a blow-out victory... followed by an outcry from the players... resulting in the interim label being removed.

FSU is certainly a higher profile gig than A&M, no? The thinking with Fisher - and all coaches - must be that 'I'm more likely to get 5 years i I move than survive another 5 years where I am.' That'd be true for him at FSU. Heck, no one can convince me otherwise that's not why Herm Edwards left the Jets for the Chiefs. He's gonna suck at ASU, btw. How is that guy gonna recruit after 9 years away from coaching PRO football?

I posted that before seeing the deal Jimbo got. 10 years at $75 million? That's a lot of money for what's gonna end up being one more win a year than Sumlin got. No sane person turns that down. A&M last won a national title in 1939. Which is longer than BC last won a national title. Which shows how nuts they are.

In looking for all the Power 5 interest that HCRD has secured to be a Power 5 head coach, I came across this article which guesses that Chip Kelly may be asking him to take the OC job at Oregon. I particular liked the part where they attribute Matt Ryan's greatness to HCRD.

FSU has to be the most attractive job available. Sure the fans have annual CFP expectations, but you're inheriting a roster of all 4 and 5 stars, and are in a division where Clemson is the only real competition. FSU is the type of team that can even get into the playoff with an 11-1 season (with a loss to Clemson) in the right year.

Meh going 11-1 is way harder than you make it seem. The ACC is substantially stronger than it used to be particularly on our side of the division. The SEC is also much weaker than it used to be. Both this year and last year the middle of the pack ACC teams were better than the middle SEC teams.

The ACC has been better than the SEC for a few years now

Frost being announced as Nebraska head coach but will stay on to coach UCF in the Peach Bowl.

Taggart announced he's staying in Oregon. So, the FSU search goes continues.

Mahlzan is using Arkansas interest to get an Auburn extension. However, they may not bite (which would undoutedly lead to a move back home for Gus and his crazy wife).

Mahlzan is staying in Auburn. Getting a 7-year extension for $49mm.

It should be noted that I think it was wildly premature to say that Willie Taggart was no longer in the running for the FSU gig. It seems that the interpretation came from the linked blog in response to a Taggart tweet. But, reading the tweet itself, I don't believe it says what the blog thinks it says.

In comparison, Fuentes has voiced a significantly more definitive statement: https://twitter.com/RTD_MikeBarber/stat ... 2937608193

Also, a personal favorite of mine (Mark Hudspeth) was fired... so the University of Louisiana Lafayette job is open.
