The increased sales of $8 beers.

The increased interest in football and concomitant increase in checkbook opening by simply shit-canning Captain Boredom and hiring the guy with the most exciting offense in college football history will cover the $6.5 million.

Eaglekeeper {l Wrote}:The money is easy, do the math. The average attendance will go up each year with Moorhead. Just 5,000 per game for 6 games at $50 per seat is $1,250,000 x 5 years = $7.5 million. Average attendance has been 30,000 the last couple of years. I see the increase at least 10,000 and eventually 15,000. That is not counting concessions, parking, merchandise, etc.
BC will lose more than 6.5 million if they do not buy Daz out.
Moorhead is the clear choice. I'm worried about MJ making the right choice. He is not a businessman and his comment at The Gridiron Club that BC would never pay a coach 8 million a year is premature. BC knows what their revenues are now, but if Moorhead is highly successful we do not know how much our revenues will increase. That number is unknown and without it one can never say what BC will be willing to pay a coach to protect that revenue stream. I remember telling a trustee friend of mine after TC's 2nd year that BC should offer him a ten year, ten million dollar contract. The trustee laughed saying that BC would never pay that for a coach and that the faculty would be in an uproar! Daz gets 2.5 million! The whole concern of image and faculty outrage has long since passed at BC. We need to hire Moorhead and keep him here for 25 years. Average to poor coaches will never survive at BC. We can't keep cycling through 2.5 million per year coaches, eating their contracts to the tune of 5 million per year, 2.5 for the old coach still on the payroll and 2.5 for the new coach! We can't be a fucking steppingstone!

While this is conceptually true, its not the case with Morehead. Im not arguing that he would be good/bad, but he will not make a material difference in contributions or attendance, hes not a big enough name in the near term. To see the type of immediate impact that youre projecting, its someone like Kelly (or maybe O'Brien). Maybe in the long run with success (if he were to stay), but for immediate impact, you need to make a bigger splash.

in the history of bad posts on this board, this post may be the worst. I don't know how he does it, but corners has figured out how to post like a 16 year old that thinks he knows everything from his experience on ps college football dynasty mode. there is so much hyperbole, false assumption, and downright stupidity in his post, I don't know where to start criticizing.

i think the impact would be minimal in both attendance and donation prior to a change in the winning percentage/product on the field.
we as a society are much more prone to dropping something out of our lives than we are to adding something to our lives; and the locals have proven time and again that they have no interest in bc. a coaching change alone would not alter that behavior in my opinion
