I assume in your new role you will be perusing all the Boston College themed websites; Eagle Action.com, Eagle Insider.com, BC Interruption, Eagle in ATL, and even the off-broadway sites such as this one. I think you are going to find the same message in each location that you visit.
The hole that you find the program in is deep and treacherous. You have a disenfranchised fan base that is tired of losing, but more so tired of what appears to be not even trying. You have an uphill road to climb in getting the general interest back when even a group of rabid fans, such as the ones that post here, are choosing to go apple picking in the fall rather than enjoy a day on campus watching the alma mater face off against a foe in the confines of Alumni Stadium. I hope you are able to share your energy and enthusiasm with the greater group and get the excitement back that Coach Jags and Coach SKinner were able to elicit back before the athletic department took a turn into mediocrity and obscurity.
As a primer, I think some of the shortcomings of the program can be best summarized here. It's a topic that's come up so often that it's tough to capture all in one place... but I really think this is the best synopsis.

If you read anything about the plight of BC, read that. You'll be caught up to speed with the state of the program and the most likely methods of turning things around quickly.
In closing - Good Luck and Go Eagles!!!!
