Welcome aboard, Martin Jarmond

I assume in your new role you will be perusing all the Boston College themed websites; Eagle Action.com, Eagle Insider.com, BC Interruption, Eagle in ATL, and even the off-broadway sites such as this one. I think you are going to find the same message in each location that you visit.

The hole that you find the program in is deep and treacherous. You have a disenfranchised fan base that is tired of losing, but more so tired of what appears to be not even trying. You have an uphill road to climb in getting the general interest back when even a group of rabid fans, such as the ones that post here, are choosing to go apple picking in the fall rather than enjoy a day on campus watching the alma mater face off against a foe in the confines of Alumni Stadium. I hope you are able to share your energy and enthusiasm with the greater group and get the excitement back that Coach Jags and Coach SKinner were able to elicit back before the athletic department took a turn into mediocrity and obscurity.

As a primer, I think some of the shortcomings of the program can be best summarized here. It's a topic that's come up so often that it's tough to capture all in one place... but I really think this is the best synopsis.

http://eagleoutsider.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5603&p=113897&hilit=

If you read anything about the plight of BC, read that. You'll be caught up to speed with the state of the program and the most likely methods of turning things around quickly.

In closing - Good Luck and Go Eagles!!!!

Wonder if this means a return of both Coach Second Round and Kennesaw's top donor?

I sincerely doubt Second Round is making a return.

At this point I'd take Coach 2nd Round over Coach 2-36 in ACC play any day of the week.

Their reaction was predictable. I don't know anything about the deputies he hired, but I like the fact that Jarmond is being given an opportunity to build his way.

I know ATL can't censor comments, but geez reading those was brutal. Gotta love how "most qualified" comes up after we hire two African-American staffers. Meanwhile the qualifications of 90% of that athletics department are questionable.

Mr Seinko. You overstate your case. This blog has little or no influence. And it is nothing like Eagleoutsuder - which has a much much bigger following.

. One of the major douche bags over there was making a joke about prentending a famous and very sick BC alum died. A very scummy group of BC a-holes there.

Is this guy talking about me?

Pretty excited to be considered a "major douche bag" here, considering the amount of douchebags we have. But damnit, I fell prey Mike Barnicle's dumb ass tweet just like other places did.

How is your poop house? You get that cast iron main repaired or is your basement a sewage swimming pool from the nicer houses further uphill?

The comments are dumb in light of the fact that hiring a current AD who knows how to navigate BC and the women who currently pulls the strings for all women's programs at USF are in fact well qualified.

Them raking EO over the coals is pretty humorous

Sorry, but there's no fucking way you've ascended to major douche bag status.

Was anything said besides EO is a bunch of scummy a-holes?
Have we all mellowed out so much that our legacy is that tempered down?
Not to get too nostalgic, but i long for the days when we were described as a "cesspool of hate" and that was one of the more milder criticisms toward this group. The good old days.

Bates did this too. There was still a jam up getting into that entrance because of their insistence on waiting exactly to the 3 hour mark and he inability of police to control walking traffic

Hopefully he's reviewing (non laminated) resumes this week. Of course I'm sure BC won't actually let him hire anyone good. I'm afraid of a garbage retread like Al Golden (he's available!) or worse.

Moorhead has to have a shot right? Other than he could probably get a better job if he wants, he's a good northeast born Fordham boy. That might be enough distract Leahy from realizing he's good football coach who will actually win games.
