9/16 - Notre Dame - obviously

hansen {l Wrote}:Does this schedule help or hurt our Lambert Trophy chances?
dtwalrus {l Wrote}:I think it's a pretty good schedule.
1) Ease the offense into the season with @ N.Illinois and Wake
2) Burn an unwinnable game (Clemson) early in the year and save the critical winnable games (NCST, 'Cuse, etc) for later.
3) Two home games in October, even if one is a Friday night game.
4) Late BYE to prepare for the 3 critically winnable games that will end the year (NCST, UConn and @ Syracuse)
5) Only 2 really tough games in a row at any point in the schedule (@Clemson/ND and VT/@Louisville)
6) Winnable UVa game perfectly placed when we'll really need a change in momentum (VT, @Louisville, @Uva, FSU)
All in all, not bad for BC.

Barring multiple injuries across the board, my optimistic worst case scenario is all about the defense. I just can't see this defense losing to Wake, UVa or the 3 OOC cupcakes.

yes - unproven freshman quarterbacks always achieve at LEAST to the standards that you expect and never perform worse that one would expect at all times and in all facets of the game.

He's not a freshman. He'll have been on campus for three semesters and two springs. It's nothing like last year, assuming he has any talent.

on the field he's a freshman. just like tyler roche used to hit shots from everywhere in practice, until it's demonstrated in a game it's unproven.

we'll hear about breaking in a new qb at his spring presser
then he'll talk about a new RT (my guess is august, during summer ball)
later he'll bemoan the fact that jeff smith / walker didn't RS (probably after wake / nd at one of the ketchup fests at jake and joe's)

The bye week falls perfectly for Daziani. He will very likely need to win the last 3 games to get to 6. So, it really couldn't come at a better time.
Here are my chances of BC winning each game...
Sept. 1 at Northern Illinois (Fri.) - 65%
Sept. 9 WAKE FOREST - 60%
Sept. 16 NOTRE DAME - 40%
Sept. 23 at Clemson - 5%
Sept. 30 CENTRAL MICHIGAN - 70%
Oct. 7 VIRGINIA TECH - 25%
Oct. 14 at Louisville - 10%
Oct. 21 at Virginia - 60%
Oct. 27 FLORIDA STATE (Fri.) - 5%
Nov. 4 OPEN
Nov. 11 NC STATE - 55%
Nov. 18 vs. UConn (Fenway Park, Boston) - 75%
Nov. 25 at Syracuse - 50%
So, depending on how badly Dazoo mismanages the game, we should be anywhere from 7-5 to 5-7.
eepstein0 {l Wrote}:There are still plenty of completely God awful teams on this schedule.
Again something between 6-8 wins.
