I agree that's the right call given what the rules are. I'm saying the rule should be changed. He went high and led with the crown of the helmet.

I thought Bud should have went lower. I agree that the NFL needs to straighten out what they consider "hitting a runner" vs a personal foul, before it costs someone a Superbowl. They may also want to figure out what a catch is

I agree with all you guys. Absolutely no reason he had to hit him in the facemask when the flags are attached to his waist.

"Moore was rolling to his right, when linebacker Bud Dupree lowered his head and hit Moore in the helmet with the crown of his helmet. It was a easy for officials to throw a 15-yard penalty flag on Dupree."

Using quotes from a Yahoo sports article to support your opinion? What is this a high school English class? I would also appreciate it if you could at least cite it in MLA format

You must have went to a 'fine' institution of 'higher learning' if you could get through high school citing yahoo.

The article could have just as easily been titled "Matt Moore was obliterated by a football hit recently made illegal through the plaintiff's bar".

Some things I found funny from the article...
(a) it nostalgically references some other hard hits on QBs throughout the years... none of which were illegal (though all likely would be illegal now) and
(b) it talks about how the obliterated Moore (who needs a security team of referees to protect him) returned after one play, which means that either (i) he wasn't such a special snowflake in need of targetted legislation or (ii) the Dolphins ignored concussion protocal.

Didn't the patriots have a weak schedule this year due to luck and injury?
I dont follow the NFL very closesly but I vaguely remember reading that somewhere.
Something about very few teams they beat had winning records.

They beat the Texans 27 to 0 with jacoby brissett at QB. Think on that BC fan. Like the Cardinals beating the sox

Cardinals-Red Sox are 2-2 in World Series. :shrug

But at least Eli preserved his undefeated record in the Superbowl which is the basis of his greatness. If he had won three playoff games and then lost in the Superbowl it would mean that he sucks. This way he retains his great quarterback status vs Brady because he beat him twice head to head.

galloping ghost has mastered the insane logic of one Dick Rosenthal. After you clear away all of Dick's meaningless rhetoric, after you dig deeper into the math and Dick's twisted mind, you are left with this straightforward, logical, understanding, of how we should ALL evaluate Eli and the Giants

Sorry, when betardo started quoting John Gruden for the proposition that Mengele's Granddaughter's beta husband is the GOAT, he had to accept Gruden's logic in totality. Ergo Marino isn't in the Top 5, Dan Fouts wasn't better than Kenny Stabler, etc. Ergo, Elisha remains 2-0 against Beta Tom in the Big Game and thus is better. I didn't pick the terrain for the fight, but it was sure a comfortable place from which to shell betardo into silence.

As for the rest of the playoffs, outside of 128 and few other equally insignificant provincial markets, no one cares anymore. That would change if someone were allowed to take the extra step that would inevitably end Brady or the equally immobile Matty Ice as going concerns, but if they reverted back to the way the game was called in the days of the true GOAT, Joe Montana, you'd have Aaron Rodgers and, from the racist view of the NFL Offices, a bunch of unmarketable "Negro" quarterbacks like Russell Wilson and Dak Prescott. Heaven forefend! Better to reduce the whole game to a glorified 7 on 7 competition.

I hope so - sweet Jesus, I hope so.

Two points to consider in the GOAT discussion:

1. the order of the fight would matter - if venomous snakes went first, they would despatch the tigers and grizzlies and all the other obvious gladiators, with the mongoose being the eventual winner since only it is immune to snake venom; but if the mongoose fought the snakes before squaring off against larger animals, then my money's on the bengal tiger

b. my dad could TOTALLY kick all of your dads' asses

But then the Honey Badger would show up and disembowel the mongoose and eat it. My money would be on an Sea Eagle aka Erne. They apparently eat highly poisonous sea snakes as a regular matter and they are big enough to carry off a mongoose and take a honey badger 50 or 60 feet up in the air and than drop it on some rocks.

If the Bengal Tiger were to somehow survive it could just fly around in circles until the tiger died of boredom, although I saw a Nat Geo special where they said a brown bear would totally destroy a siberian tiger in a fight. Anyway, I have recently purchased a composite bow for the sole purpose of stalking and hunting a Kodiak bear. Sure, it costs a shitload of money for the tag, but I was looking around my house last year and decided that the only thing I could add to it to make it even more apparently the residence of a middle aged, affluent caucasian would be to add a bear skin rug to my library/office.

Seattle's Kevin Pierre-Louis had a special teams penalty called on him that was costly. Eventually the penalty led to a safety for Atlanta and cost Seattle great field position. In defense of KPL if the officials didn't see that penalty they certainly would have called a penalty on Richard Sherman which was way more obvious.
