he was being serious. my point was that if you don't know who's already been coronated as the 2017 bc quarterback (and declared the best quarterback since matt ryan) you haven't been paying attention

OK, I know this would normally deserve red font, but it doesn't matter who the QB is, it can't be worse than Towles...

I think the '17 defense will be significantly better than the '16 defense. Much closer to '15. I know it was UConn, Wake and Maryland, but the D finished the year very strong. And while UConn, Wake and Maryland are garbage, so are 7 teams on our schedule next year.

BC finished as the 5th worst offense by Offensive S&P+, somehow matching the same mark from 2015. Not sure what I make of that. I think BC's offense seemed overall a little better in 2016 but maybe that's only because the team scored enough points to actually win 3 more games - scoring a little bit on Clemson/ND/Louisville (and the Howard debacle) in 2015 versus the single touchdown performances against VT, FSU, Louisville and Clemson in 2016 I guess makes them match up? Not sure what to expect for next year. I was hoping for a moderate offensive improvement in 2016 and we got maybe a very small one, if that, and I think the team could take a decent step forward, but again, that needs a moderate offensive improvement (imagine being 70th in the country in offense instead of 124th!) and to maintain the defense as a top 20, top 25 unit.

I can't predict much but I will say the season and probably Addazio's BC tenure hinges on the offensive line taking a big step forward to look more like the lines he had in year 1 and 2. so I'll go ahead and guess another 6-6 and a bowl loss because what the hell do I know anyway.

His offense was 43rd and 46th the first 2 years. Ultimately his success hinges on getting the offense back to that level. That offense combined with our D and special teams = 10-2 season time

Addazio needs to get the line to that level and find a Tyler Murphy that can throw. Add that to this defense and it is 10-2 time.

If the o-line can develop I am not saying we can win the Atlantic, but I think we can field some competitive teams -- as long as Daz gets fired of course.

Not as down on the WRs. Glines, Borgenson, Walker, Smith(s), White, Robinson and maybe Lewis....some mix of skills in there. Development needed, but potential is there.

You see a lot of potential in Borgenson whilst watching him standing on the sideline?

I see potential in Smith if used correctly.

Walker needs to be more consistent, he is one of few that I actually see getting open. This was irrelevant when Patrick Cutler locked onto one guy last year.

If Thad or Robinson could catch they'd be good.

Robinson did not have a single reception in 2016. Did he even have a pass thrown to him? Never thought of Thad "Chad" Smith as having bad hands. He looked pretty good in 2015.

Passes clanked off these guys hands far too frequently in 2015.

My guess is that in practice it's also a common occurrence. I'd still prefer them to the usual crew

Anyone know when spring practice begins? Last year it was the first week of March.

landry ranked #9 player for 2017

https://www.profootballfocus.com/colleg ... gn=college

9. Harold Landry, Edge, Boston College
Landry broke out in 2015, ranking fifth in the nation against the run at 87.2, but 2016 saw him take his pass-rushing to a new level with a 90.2 grade that ranked seventh among edge defenders. Landry finished with 18 sacks, seven QB hits, and 44 hurries on his 340 rushes while maintaining his strong work against the run. Landry turned down an opportunity to go to the NFL, and he’ll return as one of the nation’s top edge defenders.

I am simply going to predict more of the same in 2017.
