hinghameagle {l Wrote}:south Carolina is awful. Bc will absolutely stay in that game. 13-10 one way or another.

Stanford wou beat BC without much trouble. We wouldn't move the ball at all on them. 17-3 or something like that.

USF would rocketship us. They can put up points, and that would be the end of us.

Maryland analysis would be equivalent to South Carolina's

Navy would be far too disciplined for us and would beat us by three scores.

BC can beat Army but Army would be more up for the game.

Utah would do to us what Colorado did to TOB in his first bowl game

The problem with BC is that most of these teams who are these low level bowls have a serious flaw. Some are defense. BC cannot exploit even the worst defenses in the country. They should be able to line up an run it all over a team like Army. They probably have a 50 pound per person advantage on the lines. However, I guarantee you BC would run for about 2.8 ypc against Army.

Agree with most of this. But can't believe we'd be able to keep it even that close (17-3) against Stanford. More likely a fifth entry in the all-time worst loses in BC history -- if Stanford showed up at all. I wouldn't be sanguine about Maryland or South Carolina either.

Not so hard making back2back ACCCGs when Matt Ryan is your QB for both.

I guess we should be hoping for the one that will cost us less. Wonder which ones the kids would rather go to?
Independence is 12/26 at 5:00 vs SEC.
DEtroit is 12/26 at 2:30 vs Big10.

Temple would be the best available opponent and thus opportunity to get a decent win this year.

Temple played Ped St. tough @ Ped. St. and only lost by a TD. A possible win but not a gimme.

If Justin is still alive, could he dip into his Adsense millions and buy one of those $2 houses in Detroit so we can have an EO party mansion for the week?

Maryland's season looks about as crappy as ours (huge blowouts, some FCS fluffers). I actually think we win after 4 crappy quarters of football.

A bowl, a location and an opponent worthy of the kind and quality of season that the Sarge produced.

Arguably, since beating Syracuse at the end of 2014, no.

Those who need the red font are noobs or factually agree with the comment. I don't feel the need to cater to either.

TobaccoRoadEagle {l Wrote}:I think people are forgetting how terrible the teams we beat are and, as a slight tangent, how terrible bc football is

The parallel season of these two clubs is astonishing.

Wins against dreadful teams:
MD - Howard, FIU, UCF, Rutgers, Purdue
BC - Wagner, Umass, Buffalo, UConn

Wins against not totally terrible teams:
MD - Michigan State
BC - RCC and Wake

Losses against winnable opponents:
MD - Minnesota and Indiana
BC - GTech and Cuse

Blowout losses:
MD - PSU (24)(before they turned their season around), Mich (56), tOSU (59) and Neb (21)
BC - VT (49), Clem (46), Ville (45) and FSU (38)

If one was doing a Costco analysis, I think it is fair to have BC as a 2.5-point favorite.

For those in Boston, Thinskin is doing an interview airing at 1130 on CBS Boston. Interview with a Steve Burton who's kid decommitted on him for UCLA, surprised he would bother doing the interview when his son failed to kiss the ring.

Nice to see a BC alum ask real questions.

Also, Daz is on record as not having a young/inexperienced team next year. "We have 20 guys who've played meaningful snaps coming back on offense and 20 guys who've played meaningful snaps coming back on defense." I think this is evidence of a realization that the groundwork has been laid for his termination in Year 5. Excuse-making was accepted last year and was tolerated this year. But, when Billy has to routinely deal with questions about athletics, he'll eventually make a change to shut people up (not to win more, just to reset the complaining clock for another 4-5 years).

eh he trotted out the same :bullshit preseason only to retreat to the youth line as things went bad

Very, very exciting team. We finally have our roster balanced. We have it to the point where we don't have glaring deficits at different positions. We're returning 15 starters this year as opposed to returning a total of eight. We have eight just on offense alone and seven on defense. On defense we return 17 of the top 21 tacklers. In fact in the secondary we return eight of nine top tacklers after starting three true freshmen.

So all in all, I think you're going to see a different Boston College football team on offense. I think you're going to see the same explosive team on defense.

The youth card has been played so many times and so predictably (a la "It's Raining Men" at Higgi's fake HBS mixers) that the humor is mostly gone.

The real funny part of next year is going to be when he denies having said it's a 5 year rebuild

My family of 4 (kids are 10 and 8) will be heading to Detroit from Cleveland for the game. It will be their first BC game...a little "gift" from Santa. My kids are luckily too young to know how bad things are and, well, I will be there to support the players and the school. I know it will be tough for many, but it is a relatively easy drive for BC alums in Cleveland, Indianapolis, Chicago and Cincinnati. As bad as Detroit is (and it is pretty bad), it is easy to get off the freeway, get to the game and GET OUT! Was there in 2002 for the BC vs. Toledo game. This is a SLIGHT upgrade in match-up!

Hopefully with a new AD in place next year, and another 6-6 season in 2017 with 3 wins in ACC (Wake, UVA and NC State), the new AD will look at a 5-19 ACC record in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and say enough is enough.

Go Eagles!
