dtwalrus {l Wrote}:A 5-7 bowl would be the worst of the worst bowl game. You think Detroit is a toilet bowl, just wait. And given that it would likely be a significant financial hit considering how poorly the fan base travels when we actually have a fan base, are actually playing decent football, and are actually playing a decent team in a decent bowl, I actually think that we'd consider not going if it's something like the Bahamas Bowl in front of 500 fans against Middle Tennessee. Extra practices or not.

You are delusional if you think we would even consider for a millisecond turning down the bowl.

dtwalrus {l Wrote}:I'm not saying we definitely turn it down, but you're crazy to think we're definitely accepting a 5-7 bowl.
dtwalrus {l Wrote}:Both Texas and ND declined 5-7 bowls in the last few years. It was "beneath them."
DrJackRyan {l Wrote}:With a 981 APR, BC would easily qualify. The only five-win teams in the country with higher APRs are Vanderbilt (990) and North Texas (984). Duke is sitting on a 4-7 record with a 995 APR, but it goes into Miami as a 15-point underdog. [/i]

If BC loses, complete open market with BC pushing for a bowl post-Christmas because of exams and ESPN will try to accommodate because of the ratings.

HJS {l Wrote}:A 5-7 BC team would be the last pick after the rest of the Big 5 and the Academies. However, there could be a mod-major picked over us based on location of a bowl. I think we will get an invite, but... if you don't want it to be Camden on December 10th, just beat a terrible Wake team (like you should have vs Cuse and GT).
BTW... here in lies my biggest problem with Daz. He is not a good enough recruiter (decent) to overcome his terribleness as a coach (worst in Power 5). BC needs someone who gives us a net advantage over the opponent. Either being a sick recruiter and a marginal tactician or a decent recruiter but incredible coach (developing talent and Xs/Os) (so long as Leahy is controlling the purse strings, BC will never have someone who is good at both).
