I would be shocked if the 30 day thing is true. I believe an announcement on Bates could happen in 30 days, but there is no way they have an outsider on board within 30 days. Hell, they lose nearly a whole week during this period and also effectively shutdown at Christmas. If they have a new AD on in 30 days, that means it is Hegarty or Gallup and both would be bad news (Hegarty less bad, but still bad).

Or the culture is actually changing, the BOT has been doing this very quietly, and, as Eagles28 on EA has said, we will be bringing in an impressive name.

i know 3 people on the board (not well - in passing know)

these are some tidbits/generalizations i have gained over the last couple of months

-one isnt remotely interested in sports and think they are a net negative for the school
-one believes the majority of the problems are caused by leahy, and his lack of commitment, and they believe he will be gone by june 2017
-one said as of 12ish days ago (granted, before FSU) he'd be shocked if daz is gone

i havent gotten a sense from any of these three that they have been operating covertly, and actually getting a good candidate.

that doesn't mean it isnt happening. but i am skeptical

Some trustees have to fly in from different parts of the country. Perhaps they did form a sub-committee of trustees who are going to meet, but none of the trustees seem to know exactly when Leahy is retiring. I doubt the BOT is involved in whether or not Bates or Adazzio are going to be replaced. That would signal the makings of a new management structure, which would be terrific!

Some trustees have to fly in from different parts of the country. Committees typically meet by phone regularly and then sometimes on campus about a month before the full BOT meeting.

I'm calling bullshit. If they had someone on deck, they would announce it. Period. There is no reason to have Bates go to a bowl game. Heck, a bowl game would be a pretty good way to let the world know that BC was changing its view towards sports (even though that isn't true so long as Fr Frank is still involved with the process).

I fully expect that we will have a new AD this time next year. But, the 30-day auto-renewing prediction is comical.
