L35guy {l Wrote}:Given how Daz seems to be unable to control his temper (see ND game last year), is it completely implausible that he'll do something stupid to force the school to fire him (such as locking a concussed player in a closet)? That may be our only hope.

That is a sure fire way to a Jim Reid interim staff. I don't think that's necessarily "hope".

BC's offense is terrible and the more film teams get on it the easier it becomes to stop. I do not know how anyone can call any road game a toss up. NC St can score points, BC can't = loss. Wake can score and they have a decent QB, last game of a losing season = loss. Syracuse is their best chance to win, but Daz has already lost 2 out 3 to SU. This is a game where the SU defense will do just enough to win like last year.

At 1-7 in conference Daz would normally be gone, but with ND on the home schedule next year they will not worry about selling season tickets. It's a gamble to bring him back because we will lose donors and season ticket sales, it's just a question of the impact ND will have on ticket sales. If Bates is out, 2017 will be for Daz like the last year was for Spaz. Donors and season ticket holders will probably stick around if a new AD is being hired.

The big question is if Leahy will ever figure out that losing seasons will only expand the losses. The only way to turn things around financially is to invest in facilities to attract better coaches and recruits. Leahy might finally realize that a formal fundraising campaign for athletics is needed. In fact, athletics should have an endowment separate from the general university endowment and managed by the BOT.

Status of the athletic department is that unless bates is replaced, once jerry York retires, we can shut off the lights and go home.

There's 0 evidence at all that Jerry York would be any good at all as an AD.
