While an asst at BC around 2000/2001, he gave a pregame speech about getting a blowjob which was an allegory for winning the game. Went on for at least five minutes. Me trying to retell it would not do it justice so I won't even attempt to. Ended it with "go and get the blowjob". One of my favorite stories from the Skinner regime.

Surprised he didn't get the BC job the two times it's been open. What with Cooley's ability to relate basketball to a subject Bill allegedly is an expert in.

Seriously reinforces impression that this forum is populated by fringe misfits and undercuts any influence our criticisms, as a reflection of wider BC fandom views, might have on the administration. FWIW, Loyola's athletics programs have come a long way in the past ten years, which covers a lot of Jim's tenure. My sister graduated from there in 2007 and I check in on how they're doing every now and then.

I believe Parker Executive Search placed him at Loyola. Was that the firm BC hired to conduct this search to replace Bates ??

My fault, he was in his last role, Associate AD for Development from 2002 till he went to Loyola.

The Loyola site says that BC "raised the cash received by 750% from 1994 to 2009 and set fundraising records each and every year", I assume that was his total timeframe at BC.

I dont have a problem with Paquette. Most said being able to raise money was most important attribute, he's done it here and at Loyola, the rest will work itself out but bringing in money to catch this circus up to the rest of the NCAA is crucial

Yes. BC hired Parker.

I won't kill the hire if it is Paquette. He knows what BC can be because he was here when it was. That understanding and acknowledgement of how far we've fallen was the most important factor of any candidate. For Bill, other than good looks, the most important factor is fund raising and that is where Paquette holds an advantage over all other candidates.

Huge problem from my end is that he's hired nobody. At least McLaughlin did a good job retaining and then replacing Shaka Smart. Paquette has no connections to potential head coaching candidates (outside of Cooley, Coen, OShea, Duquette, JB3 and HCRD). I don't think anyone (outside of ATL) would be happy with that outcome.
