The only other name I ever heard linked to the search is Mike Alford from Oklahoma. So... to be clear... the names given were Bodensteiner, Alford, Dee and McLaughlin. Lyons, Paquette, Bowen and the Nova AD came from here or Blauds. I know of no one else.

That said... I didn't know anything about Bates until his name was out there less than 24-hours before the hire. As I've said before there is no search committee... this is just Leahy with some help from Trainor and Butler. Accordingly, like all Leahy searches, nothing gets out and we'll all be shocked at how terrible the choice will be. I expect some truly terrible candidate no one has ever heard of gets the job within 24-hours of their name being floated.

If this is true, that he is hiring a compliance officer who has never run an athletics department before. It's worse than bad. She is making a big jump from compliance to running a P5 program. She has never hired a coach at any level and appears to have never managed a budget. Not sure what the thinking is here. Could surprise but on first look, this doesn't remotely fit what I thought they were pursuing. Just kind of proves the point that BC is now a mid major playing in a P5 conference. Christ.....
