because of gamblor

you can't deny he hired better coaches that buttcut OR that he raised a greater amount of time valued money than buttcut

Corners once again making a strong push towards the end of the worst poster contest. Corners in December/January is like Curt Schilling in October.

No AD should have autonomy in hiring coaches, but Gladchuk did hire TC, Beamer if only for a couple of days, TOB, Al and JY. He has also done very well at Navy. At BC he alone spearheaded the stadium expansion and had the IPF up next. He had passion for and believed that BC could win championships. He certainly was better than GDF and Bates by a long shot.

In Corner's defense, Gladchuck was a great guy and has done well since leaving BC.

Chet also hired Henning, screwed up Hockey and had the JOB thing blow up in his face. He also pissed off a lot of donors. Would have been hard to pull off the IPF without your biggest boosters.

And the NIMBYs.
Part of the reason we don't have an IPF yet is due to the animosity about the way the stadium expansion went down.

Chet did an outstanding job getting the stadium built. You will never please the neighbors and you can't let them alter your plans. It's not the neighbors that matter, although in the stadium expansion they were actually very helpful, it's the BRA and Planning Board that matters. The neighbors forced a redesign of the stadium to make the exterior look more like a building and they were right. The project was a huge success and solved a traffic problem that existed for years.

The only donors that were upset supported JOB, the vast majority of us wanted Chet never to leave. He had the stadium sold out on a season ticket basis. The biggest mistake Leahy made was forcing Chet out to put GDF in. Of course GDF then forced TOB out and destroyed the program.

It's being reported that Chip interviewed to be Jacksonville OC. Have to think that's a pretty ideal spot for him to land if the stars were to align for him to come to BC (non-commital coordinator role working for Coughlin ?)

The guy we passed on for Chris Crane is now the head coach.

Perhaps Brian Daboll. 11 seasons with the Patriots and was offensive coordinator with the Chiefs and Dolphins. University of Rochester grad so not a complete moron. Sure, some former Patriots' assistants have been unsuccessful as a head coach, but other than Charlie Weis, that was at the NFL level.

Taylor, however, took Strong to task for the players' arrests.

"Coach Strong, if you are listening, in the last couple of months there have been two arrests of your players for very violent felonies. This court, and I'm sure I'm not alone, questions whether you have control over your players. It's fairly clear you do not have control of them off the field, and I guess only time will tell whether you have control over them on the field.

"I would implore you to think long and hard about whether being head coach at USF is a good fit for you before any other members of this community have to suffer at the hands of one of your players."

This is kind of dumb since Strong hasn't coached a game yet at USF
