I wonder if they plan on putting floors on ticket prices like the Yankees did.

StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, has signed a multi-year agreement with Boston College making it the Official Ticket Marketplace of Boston College Athletics. The agreement is in partnership with Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement, provider of integrated ticketing and marketing services, and Fenway Sports Management, the university’s multimedia rights partner.

The agreement with BC includes ticketing integration and sponsorship rights for football, men’s basketball and men’s hockey. The partnership marks StubHub’s eighth property in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), and builds on its position as a major partner and sponsor in the collegiate space, working with more than 40 Division I universities. The agreement is StubHub’s first with a university in Massachusetts.

“We are very excited to partner with StubHub to now offer BC fans an improved ticket resale solution,” JM Caparro, Boston College senior associate athletic director of external relations, said. “With StubHub’s dedication to customer service, this partnership was a natural fit to provide our season ticket members with a safe and easy platform to resell any tickets they’re unable to use.”

Through StubHub’s strategic partnership integration with industry-leader Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement, BC season ticket members will access StubHub as the official ticket marketplace of the Eagles. The service is a fully integrated ticketing platform, which allows season- and single-game ticket holders the opportunity to resell tickets with confidence and ease on the world’s largest ticket marketplace, while also providing buyers a safe and secure shopping experience, with instant tickets upon purchase, via mobile delivery or print-at-home.

“We are thrilled to further enhance our partnership with Boston College to now provide Eagles fans with access to incredible tickets to athletic events,” said Kim Damron, chief operating officer, Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement. “Our partnership with StubHub will provide BC fans with the industry-leading platform to buy and resell tickets via a fan-friendly interface on the world’s largest marketplace.”

The industry-leading technology, paired with StubHub’s wealth of data, will also provide Eagles fans with the clearest pricing guidance and the most accurate recommendations to get the very best value. Every transaction is also backed by StubHub’s 100% money-back Fan Protect Guarantee and access to exceptional 24/7 customer service.

“StubHub is proud to partner with Boston College and Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement as we work together with the Northeast’s premier athletic program,” said Brian O’Malley, senior manager, business development, StubHub. “We look forward to working with our partners and the BC community to provide fans an exceptional and trusted ticket marketplace, while also offering a suite of tools that make it easy to buy and sell tickets on-the-go and support the Eagles.”

For the first time, StubHub has engaged with Fenway Sports Management (FSM), the university’s provider of marketing and sponsorship rights management. Included in the portfolio of assets will be digital and in-venue advertising and promotions for football, men’s basketball and men’s hockey games.

“This partnership with StubHub and Spectra will provide Eagles fans with access to a best-in-class ticketing platform on the world’s largest and most reliable ticket marketplace,” FSM Managing Director Mark Lev said. “We look forward to working with these two industry leaders to further enhance the Boston College Athletic experience.”

Hopefully they allow the free market to decide their prices like Maryland does - the one trip I made to College Park was significantly improved by being able to buy tickets cheaply on the university StubHub set-up and know I was sitting near the BC section rather than whatever the hell that ticket exchange site was that BC has been trying to get people to use. We'll see if they screw this up too though.
